The great thing about designing furniture is that it is exclusively for humans; and regardless of how much humans evolve, we continue to have pretty basic needs in terms of furnishing the places where we live...We sleep in beds...We work at desks...We sit in chairs...We eat from table tops...We put our clothes in chests and wardrobes...Fortunately, I do not think that we will ever evolve to a state where this is different.

Walk into their Williamsburg workshop and you'll find furniture that's been thoughtfully constructed by hand, piece by piece, using methods that prioritize durability over shortcuts. Tyler Hays, who trained as both a painter and sculptor, dreamed up the whole operation and continues steering its creative direction. Joshua Vogel, trained in architecture and skilled at the craft itself, runs the day-to-day work happening in their Brooklyn studio. What makes their pieces stick around for decades: solid domestic hardwoods joined using time-tested techniques, paired with finishes hand-rubbed in natural oils and lacquers that only get better with age. During the quieter winter months, the studio's intimate creative energy really shines through—you can actually watch craftspeople at work without the usual bustle. Their catalog spans beds, tables, chairs, lighting, and storage pieces. Some designs have become go-to classics, while they're always experimenting with fresh concepts that respect their core approach. Nothing here is mass-produced or disposable.

Todd Hase Furniture, Inc. includes a full collection of upholstery, tables, casegoods, accessories and textiles. Designed by Todd Hase, the line is distinctly modern. It uses a classic vocabulary of shapes and lines to offer a pared down, simplified yet extremely palatable, ultimately usable line of home furnishings. Old world techniques of manufacturing are applied to these modern products: eight-way handtied springs fill upholstered seating and hand fitted marquetry patterns of beautiful veneers enhance tables, casegoods and lighting.

reGeneration is a ten-year-old store dealing in Mid-Century vintage furniture, with a focus on the 50's. The store specializes in vintage pieces from American and Danish designers, such as Florence Knoll, George Nelson, Edward Wormley, Jens Risom, Milo Baughman, Hans Wegner, Arne Jacobsen and Borg Mogensen.
