The launching of a dance company in 2004 and expansion into the beautiful, spacious studios on Prospect Avenue is a longtime goal realized. These seven years of extraordinary growth, since June of 2002, are a testament to Ms. King's dedication to creating an atmosphere that provides a fertile training ground for dancers and a place for teachers/choreographers to present new and original works. Rebecca Kelly creates abstract and narrative ballets which convey her humanistic outlook. The works features Kelly's vibrant expression, fusing classical dance with modern forms resulting in an arresting lyrical yet earthy quality. Kelly brings out strong individuality with a culturally diverse group of dancers. Themes range from topical issues about the environment and astute social commentary, to poetical works involving the sheer energy and beauty of the highly skilled dancer and the complex use of the body. Classical line and touching performance, coupled with intense musicality and energy distinguish each of Kelly's works. No matter what topic, Kelly reveals provocative and compelling images, with a directness of expression which easily engages the audience. The Company spends a portion of its summer in a second home in the Adirondack Mountains, where as artists-in-residence in Lake Placid, NY since 1987, it has developed many new ballets.

The American Theater Dance began in 1982 as The American Dancemachine, a professional company and school, whose mission it was to reconstruct, perform and preserve the great dance numbers from Broadway shows. When founder/director Lee Theodore died in 1986, we became The American Theater Dance Workshop.

Eddie Zawacki began his early training at Balanchine’s School of American Ballet. He has created an entire body of choreographic work on his own company the Zawacki Ballet.
Recently completing a year with ballet icon David Howard at 211 West 61st Street, NYC, they together taught and hosted several dance concerts with guests from NYCB, ABT, and Joffrey Ballet. Ed was a guest teacher at the Alvin Ailey American Dance Center in the same facility.
Opening his own dance loft on 23rd Street in Chelsea, NYC served as a teaching facility and performing space for workshops, and choreographic projects.
Returning from London, Paris, and LA made him one of the most sought after men in the business, and has put him on the map as one of the most gifted teachers, and choreographers of his generation.

Beth Jucovy has performed extensively and given workshops and classes in Duncan, ballet, modern, and jazz techniques both in the US and throughout Europe and Israel. She choreographs for and directs Dance Visions, a professional company performing works of contemporary choreographers, as well as the works of major dance pioneers. Dance Visions has been the recipient of over fifteen NYSCA decentralization grants. The company performs throughout Long Island and the NY metropolitan area. Beth also danced for a decade with Andrew Jannetti and Dancers, performing frequently at many NYC venues. She was a soloist with the Downtown Ballet Company for six years, as well as with Ameridance International, a jazz dance company based in Munich, Germany. She is an Isadora Duncan dance specialist trained since childhood by Julia Levien. She had also worked intensively with Anna Sokolow. She has received critical acclaim in the major NY papers as well as abroad for her performances
