Tysons Corner Center, located in the Tysons Corner unincorporated area in Fairfax County, Virginia, United States (near McLean), opened to the public in 1968, becoming one of the first fully enclosed, climate-controlled shopping centers in the greater Washington area. (The fully enclosed Iverson Mall in Hillcrest Heights, Maryland, opened in 1967.) It is the largest shopping mall in the state and in the Baltimore-Washington area.
There are plans to extend the Washington Metro subway westward to Tysons Corner and eventually out to Dulles Airport. The Tysons Central 123 Silver Line station is planned to be on the north side of the shopping center where Tysons Boulevard crosses State Route 123 (Chain Bridge Road). The Mall at Steamtown opened with 65 retailers and 3 anchors: Boscov's, Montgomery Ward and The Globe. The Globe, an historic Scranton retailer, was connected to the mall via the bridge space. Unfortunately, the struggling anchor closed its doors in 1995. The building has since been redeveloped and is now known as Metro Tech Center, home of Diversified Information Technologies.

The Palisades Center, often referred to as the Palisades Mall, in West Nyack, New York is the twelfth largest Shopping Mall in the United States, and the second largest in the Tri State Area.
The mall has four levels, each of which is approximately the shape of a rectangle. Its anchor stores include Barnes & Noble, BJ's Wholesale Club, Macy's, Home Depot, JC Penney, Lord & Taylor, Staples, Best Buy, and Target. BJ's and Home Depot are not accessible from the mall itself. BJ's is on the bottom level, with Home Depot built on top of it and Target on top of that. Target is on the 4th level of the mall but is not exactly at the same level and there are a few steps down leading into the store. Source

Green Acres Mall first opened in 1956 as one of Long Island's first open-air centers serving the needs of numerous communities. To create an even more appealing shopping environment, the center was enclosed in 1968, and housed three anchor stores. As the surrounding area's population continued to grow, so did the mall with an expansion and renovation in 1983 that added a second level, food court and an additional anchor, Sears.
A multimillion dollar interior and exterior renovation was finally complete in 2007 adding new sky lights, lighting, floors, stores and a four-story parking garage.

The Pier Shops at Caesars is a shopping mall located on the four-story Pier at Caesars on the Atlantic City Boardwalk adjacent to Caesars Atlantic City in Atlantic City, New Jersey via second-story skybridge, constructed by Perini Building Company of Framingham, Ma.
