He was born July 3,1950 in the same hospital as Tito Puente; raised by his Puerto Rican parents in Spanish Harlem, a.k.a. El Barrio, New York City. Torres's mother, a hospital worker; his father an inventive plumber, sparked Eddie's knack for inventing. No dancers or musicians in the gene pool to Eddie's best knowledge.

Há 25 anos o professor e coreógrafo, Acácio de Souza, se dedica à pesquisa e ensino do samba em suas diversas modalidades, além de ser um representante legítimo do samba de gafieira do final da década de 70, preservando suas características originais e tipicamente mineiras. O samba de gafieira é uma forma de dançar brincando, buscando recurso em variadas coreografias, com muita irreverência e alegria.

Depois de ser muito tempo massacrado pela palavra, o teatro descobriu o gesto, o salto, opulo. Então deu a mão à dança. O par achando que podia ser ainda mais espetacular botou o circo na roda. Os três se olharam e disseram ao mesmo tempo: Intrépida Trupe Somos! Isso aconteceu em 1986, dentro da missão impossível que foi a viagem do Circo Voador ao México para a Copa do Mundo. Fragmentos da Escola Nacional de Circo, na Praça da Bandeira, somados a estilhaços de dançarinas do Coringa, mixados a atores do Manchas e Manias e designer da Blitz, só podia dar em algo além do nível do mar...

Em 1994, iniciou sua carreira profissional, onde começou a ministrar aulas em diversas academias da cidade, e logo já estava sendo convidado para participar de eventos, festas, feiras e convenções.
Com o passar dos anos, os convites para shows e aulas foram aumentando e então viu a necessidade da criação de uma Cia de Dança, onde desde fevereiro de 2001 vem atuando profissionalmente em diversos eventos.
Há 12 anos Cláudio estabeleceu uma parceria com SESC Ramos (além das aulas do SESC Cinelândia), onde ministra aulas dos mais diversos ritmos da Dança de Salão, com capacidade total para 300 alunos e uma atuação efetiva da Cia de Dança nas mais diversas áreas.

Procuramos dar uma continuidade a educação familiar abrindo novos horizontes para jovens aspirantes a arte da dança, que possivelmente, é a mais inclemente com o artista.

A user friendly dance studio whose goal is to teach students the art of social partner dancing by perfecting their basic steps and technique in a non-competitive, positive atmosphere. Our objective is not only to teach dance but to build the students's confidence by implementing a step by step program which allows participants to experience a sense of accomplishment as well as expand their dance skills and fulfill their desired aspirations.

As a small studio Dance Centre was able to provide individual attention to each dancer. Currently with 400 students and 4 teaching rooms, we are still dedicated to each student, both as a dancer and a person.
As diverse as the art of dance itself, our faculty is made up of instructors who specialize in teaching specific forms of dance to specific age groups. Our teachers have danced on Broadway, in movies and in music videos. Their one common philosophy is that teaching the love of dance is as important as teaching the technique of dance.

Jorday Rivera is a remarkable woman who leads a double life. By day, Jorday is an honorary Pre Med. Graduate student at St. John's University. The head intern for the chief of cardiology at The Parkway Hospital for the past four years. Within the next six months Jorday will attend either NYU or Columbia Medical School. She will study Neonatal and later become a heart surgeon and open her own practice.

Established in 1986, Deneille's Dance & Exercise Studio opened it's doors with the intension of teaching each and every single student on an individual basis; concentrating on a students particular strenghts and interests offering a complete and quality curriculum in all areas of dance. 23 years later while the world has changed in many ways our standard of excellence remains. Melissa Marotto has been dancing for over 20 years, beginning her dance training at The Walnut Hill School for the Arts in Natick, Massachusetts. She earned her BFA in dance with a concentration in pedagogy from The Boston Conservatory, where she revived the historical work for Jose Limon with Jennifer Scanlon and worked with contemporary choreographers such as Donald Byrd and Sean Curran. With a strong background in ballet, Ms. Marotto has also studied Graham, Horton, Limon, and Simonson techniques with certified instructors from all over the country.

The Vicky Simegiatos Dance Company is a non-profit organization whose sole purpose is to provide cultural enrichment for the Brooklyn community. Our sponsors include BACA (Brooklyn Cultural Arts Association), New York State Council of the Arts, the New York Life Foundation, and Body Wrappers. We have established, through auditions, a Scholarship Program for talented young students who receive dance training free of charge, and participate in our professional productions.

Em agosto de 1991, Leonardo Wenceslau e Elaine Reis fundaram a Academia de Dança e Arte Pé de Valsa, concretizando o sonho de ter uma escola com uma nova didática no ensino da dança de salão. Nestes 18 anos de funcionamento, mais de 5 mil alunos já passaram pela Academia, que, hoje, tem dois endereços em Belo Horizonte: nos bairros Cidade Jardim e Carlos Prates.

O início das atividades do Professor de Danças João Piccoli, deu-se através de sua primeira mestra e tia Maria Antonieta.
João contribuiu junto a profissionais e alunos da respeitadíssima Escola de Danças de Carlinhos de Jesus a desenvolver a maior coreografia a dois já mostrado em carnaval com 25 casais dançando na ala de gafieira.
João, também, esteve presente com seus alunos em trabalhos realizados em teatros, programas de televisão e eventos institucionais.

The Frank Ohman School of Ballet was founded in 1979 by Frank Ohman, former soloist at New York City Ballet (NYCB) and is one of the few remaining direct links to the teaching of George Balanchine. Currently located in Commack, the school serves as a training ground for promising young dancers and offers aspiring students the opportunity to learn classical ballet in the tradition of George Balanchine. The Frank Ohman School of Ballet will guide your child from first steps to advanced technique, while instilling joy for this timeless art form. The school is a non-competition, non-recital school focusing on proper classical technique.
