Producing a variety of arts and entertainment events on Staten Island. Modeled on the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council’s River to River Festival project, producing and supporting a variety of public events featuring exhibits by local artists and performances by emerging musicians and other entertainers. Environmental education and children’s activities within some of these events, as well as a marketplace for artists, craftspeople & businesses to showcase and sell their products and services.<br> Many of our events are held in underserved communities, and all are designed to make Staten Island a better place to live, work & play.

Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular, 2006 <br> This year, Macy's 4th of July fireworks show will include six barges in three locations: the traditional area between East 23rd and East 42nd Streets, just south of South Street Seaport, and between Liberty and Ellis Islands. The show starts at approximately 9:00 pm.

The Charlie Parker Jazz Festival annually assembles some of the finest musicians in the world who reflect Parker’s musical individuality and genius, to promote appreciation for this highly influential and world-renowned artist. The concerts originally scheduled for August 27 and 28 and canceled due to Hurricane Irene will now be consolidated into one and will take place on Friday, September 23 at Marcus Garvey Park in Harlem.

The DUMBO Arts Festival happens September 28-30, 2012. Join us for Brooklyn's biggest arts event of the year. DAC's mission is to engage a broad spectrum of society in the sensory and intellectual stimuli of emerging visual culture by providing visual artists and curators with the singular opportunity for both on and off-site experimentation, innovation, presentation and advancement. <br> Activities - DAC produces the annual Art Under the Bridge Festival, the largest urban forum for experimentation in public art by emerging artists in the United States. DAC presents a year-round exhibition program in its gallery, hosts an annual Artists' Opportunity Workshop and commissions editions, multiples and public space works.

From its inception, Bargemusic has been committed to attracting local audiences and enhancing the cultural life of New York by offering frequent, year-round performances of chamber music in a fittingly intimate setting—the type of setting in which chamber music is meant to be heard. To make that unique musical experience available to as many people as possible, Bargemusic presents 220 chamber music concerts annually—four days a week, 52 weeks a year—and offers free tickets to a variety of groups every week, plus a monthly free concert open to the community.

The story of Richmond Town reveals layers of the past, and the lives of ordinary people connected to each other in many ways. From its beginning as a rural crossroad, through its development as county seat, to its place as a rustic outpost within New York City, this has been a community of people living and working together.

Tribeca Enterprises is a diversified multi-platform media company located in New York City. Established in 2003 by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff, the company currently operates a network of branded entertainment businesses including the Tribeca Film Festival, Tribeca Film Festival International, and Tribeca Cinemas. The Company's mission is to provide artists with unique platforms to expand the audience for their works and to broaden the access point for consumers to experience independent film and media. Jonathan Tisch, through Walnut Hill Media, is a minority investor in Tribeca Enterprises and is a member of the Board of Directors.

The Mermaid Parade is a completely original creation that is that nation's largest art parade and one of New York City's greatest summer events. Founded in 1983 by Coney Island USA, the not-for-profit arts organization that also produces the Coney island Circus Sideshow, the Mermaid Parade pays homage to Coney Island's forgotten Mardi Gras which lasted from 1903 to 1954, and draws from a host of other sources resulting in a wonderful and wacky event that is unique to Coney Island.

The premier event of New York Road Runners, the ING New York City Marathon is one of the world's great road races, drawing more than 85,000 applicants. The race attracts many world-class professional athletes, not only for the more than $500,000 in prize money, but also for the chance to excel in the media capital of the world before two million cheering spectators and 260 million worldwide television viewers. The chances of getting a meal anywhere in Chinatown at this time are slim.

Befitting the legacy of this internationally renowned neighborhood, the HIFF experience integrates the best that Harlem has to offer - great restaurants, unique boutiques, world-class music venues, prestigious universities and cultural institutions, and a long history of excellence in the Arts. <br/> In addition to showcasing some of the best films from around the world, the Festival also features the Harlem Spotlight, which highlights films produced or directed by Harlem residents, films shot in Harlem, or films about Harlem and its history.

June, July and August. The lawn opens at 5:00pm for blankets (no plastic tarps please) and picnicking. The films begin at dusk (typically between 8pm and 9pm).

The Salute To Israel Parade, the single largest gathering in the world in support of Israel, will celebrate the milestone 60th Anniversary of the State of Israel on June 1, 2008 on Fifth Avenue in New York City. From its beginning in 1964, the Salute To Israel Parade has been a public affirmation of love and support of Israel, as well as an expression community among American Jews that transcends religious and political affiliations.

One of the nation’s groundbreaking music ensembles, the Brooklyn Philharmonic opens its 54th season as a vital presence in the cultural life of the New York metropolitan area. For the past five decades, the Brooklyn Philharmonic has played a leading role in the presentation of innovative and thematic programming, receiving 21 ASCAP Awards over the last 25 years for “Adventurous Programming of Contemporary Music.” Since its 1954 inception, audiences have embraced the Brooklyn Philharmonic’s commitment to the concept of the orchestra as a contemporary performance ensemble, emphasizing important present-day music.

The VII Cine Fest Petrobras Brasil-NY, an official event of New York summer, is back to Manhattan between August 02 and 07, to present the best Brazilian films from 2008/2009. <br> It not only offers great visibility to Brazilian culture, but the Cine Fest Petrobras Brasil-NY has an important role in the development of new business and partnerships, by introducing our audiovisual products to the American market. <br> This year the schedule includes the opening night at Central Park with a show and an outdoor screening, the competitive screenings of feature-films, Reavealing the Brasis series and a lounge with DJ at the Tribeca Cinemas. <br> The Crystal Lens Award will be presented to the best feature-film as chosen by the public.

Started in May 2010, The Hester Street Fair is home to a weekly rotation of 60 unique vendors with an emphasis on local, artist driven and handmade or collected. A dynamic space where art, commerce, local food and community intersect and thrive. From coordinating food festivals to finding special collectors to discovering new designers and expanding the Hester Street Fair brand, our Events and Market Manager will work with a team to coordinate all aspects of the company: marketing, event production, operations, publicity, and new business development. There will be a strong emphasis on business expansion, development and new opportunities.

The Annual Feast of San Gennaro, New York City's oldest, biggest and best street festival. Presented annually since 1996 by Figli di San Gennaro, Inc., a not-for-profit organization, this year?s Feast will again bring more than 1 million people to the streets of Little Italy in the annual salute to the Patron Saint of Naples. The street festivities including parades, entertainment, food stands and a cannoli-eating contest are capped on September 19th with a celebratory Mass and candlelit procession as the Statue of the Saint is carried from its permanent home in Most Precious Blood Church on Mulberry Street.

The week New Yorkers and tourists from the world over stop to be dazzled by the vibrant culture and spectacular achievements of some of the people who made America great. <br> The spirit of exploration, the struggles and triumphs of immigrants who helped build the United States, and the vibrant heritage and cultural wealth of the Italian-American community, was celebrated during Columbus Celebration 2010, from October 8th through October 11th.

What started as a single afternoon block party back in 1974 quickly ballooned into something the neighborhood couldn't contain in just 24 hours. The overwhelming turnout made it clear that Harlem had far more stories to tell than one day allowed—decades of political movements, economic resilience, and artistic innovation all deserved proper space to breathe. Today's multi-day celebration carries that same spirit of bringing the community together, spotlighting both the historical moments that shaped the neighborhood and the emerging creative voices making waves right now. During winter months, the festivities take on a particularly warm, intimate quality as locals and visitors bundle up to move between venues, creating an atmosphere where genuine connection cuts through the cold. At its core, it remains what it's always been: a gathering that lets New Yorkers—especially Harlem residents—celebrate the neighborhood's transformation and look ahead with real optimism.

Picture New York Harbor transformed into a maritime showcase during those warm late-spring days when the city buzzes with activity. The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum serves as the epicenter, though the celebration radiates across all five boroughs with energy to spare. Expect more than a dozen naval vessels—from the U.S. Navy, Coast Guard, and international fleets—anchored in the harbor, their decks welcoming curious visitors through free daily tours. The week unfolds with parades of ships gliding past the skyline, athletic showdowns like relay races and crew tug-of-wars, live combat demonstrations, and even a spirited cooking competition among ship crews. A solemn Memorial Day ceremony anchors the schedule aboard the Intrepid's flight deck, where veterans and active service members honor fallen heroes with Taps, a wreath placement, a 21-gun salute, a massive unfurled flag, and military aircraft performing the missing man formation overhead. Throughout the seven-day festival, the harbor becomes a living museum where civilians can climb aboard vessels, witness military precision up close, and celebrate the personnel who serve the country. The collaboration between New York City, the Navy, and the Intrepid Museum creates an event that blends spectacle with tribute.

On this beautiful autumn day in Brooklyn, the Atlantic Antic will bring together one million people to Atlantic Avenue to celebrate the longstanding tradition of food, art, music, shopping, festivities, and fun! July 5-8, 2012. The CBGB Festival will be presenting emerging artist showcases in over 30 venues in Manhattan and Brooklyn on July 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th. Mixed in with the emerging talent with be some of today's best touring artists making for memorable nights of new and established music from some of today's best talents. On July 7th, CBGB Festival will be presenting a large free concert in New York City at this great city's iconic outdoor music venue: Summerstage in Central Park.
