A corporation established by Deborah Fraulo, Carolyn Mackey & Allison Noto. After a decade of winning numerous awards and successfully teaching dance to students at local dance studio's, after school programs, competitions and auditions, these three young women decided it was time to make their long time dream a reality. In March of 2004 they set into motion their long anticipated "NEW BEGINNING" Deborah, Carolyn & Allison's success & love for teaching & choreographing led them to open their very own dance studio.

Capoeira Angola, an ancient martial art of African origin, is one of the many cultural weapons used to break the chains of enslavement in Brazil. Played close to the ground, Capoeira Angola combines fluid, dance-like movements with kicks, head butts, tripping sweeps and the appearance of playfulness or vulnerability. Music is played on traditional instruments to accompany the players, to teach the rhythmic heart of the art, and also to mask its power. In the eyes of the enslavers it appeared to be a joking and playful acrobatic dance, but eventually its power was realized and Capoeira was outlawed. Death was the penalty paid by those caught playing Capoeira during the slavery era. For almost 400 years Capoeira Angola was taught and practiced in secret, and only in the 1930's did this African martial art become legal to teach and practice.

Melissa Marotto has been dancing for over 20 years, beginning her dance training at The Walnut Hill School for the Arts in Natick, Massachusetts. She earned her BFA in dance with a concentration in pedagogy from The Boston Conservatory, where she revived the historical work for Jose Limon with Jennifer Scanlon and worked with contemporary choreographers such as Donald Byrd and Sean Curran. With a strong background in ballet, Ms. Marotto has also studied Graham, Horton, Limon, and Simonson techniques with certified instructors from all over the country.

Rhythm Central dance studios have new sprung dance floors. The quality of the floor that a student dances on is of utmost importance. This flexible flooring is designed to absorb energy, provide resiliency and prevent injuries. Floating on foam blocks, studios have the proper floors, critical to a dancer's safety.

There are many interesting people to meet and many partners to dance with. All you need to do is get out here. You are invited to join our Dance Club on our quest to dance socially and have fun everywhere where possible. Before going to socials we suggest to learn at least basic steps of few most popular social dances like: Salsa, Merengue, Foxtrot, Waltz, Tango, Swing and Hustle. The foundation of any dance company is its energy and creative artistry. Here at IBC and The Lindt Ballet Theater, companies can be proud of the artistic directorship of Rosemarie Lindt-Piccolo who not only has brought with her experience in working with such legendary performers as Maurice Bejart, Roland Petit and Mathilde Kschessinskaya, but her training with the world famous Madame Nora Kiss forms a link to history's greatest dancers such as Pavlova and Carlotta Brianza. Ms. Lindt-Piccolo has also studied with the great choreographer Kurt Jooss, and has extensively studied various dance forms such as Classical Spanish, Modern Tap, Pas de Deux, and the Rudolf von Laban method of Kinetography.

The original center for dance, musical theatre and performance in Park Slope for both Children and Adults. In September we begin our 34th year of business in this community. Our facility, new construction in 2007, is located at 630 Sackett Street (between 3rd and 4th Avenues) and offers: large, state of the art dance floors - both floating and sprung, central air conditioning and heating, storefront access for ease with strollers, less street congestion for those who drive, public transportation 1 block away on both buses and subway and close to schools in Park Slope, Carroll Gardens and Gowanus neighborhoods.

An integrated arts enrichment program which provides a meaningful introduction and foundation in the arts for lifetime enhancement.
