"Famous Brands including Carhartt, Columbia and Duofold have been sold in our Watkins Glen, NY clothing store since 1983 (yes we are a real brick and mortar clothing store). We started with only 900 sq. feet displaying brands such as Carhartt and Levi but now we have grown into three shopping floors consisting of over 13,000 sq. feet of casual clothing, outerwear and footwear representing over 600 brands. Our sheer size and volume allows us to offer the lowest prices available on all the top brand names in outerwear, footwear, and casual clothing. Outlet centers are comprised of stores that are owned and operated by the manufacturer. Shoppers save money through purchasing goods directly from the manufacturer. The same goods would cost the consumer more at a department store, as the department store would need to “mark up” the price of the goods to earn a profit over its cost of purchasing the goods from the manufacturer. The middle step (and therefore the markup) is omitted when shopping outlets.

"As you may, or may not be aware, much of what was previously the South Hills Mall in Poughkeepsie, New York has been recently demolished to make way for an outdoor shopping center. This is quite unfortunate, as the South Hills Mall brought so many people in our area such fond memories over the past 30 years. Not to mention, this mall was the original; it introduced the first true indoor shopping mall experience to Poughkeepsie. Thankfully, Silver Cinemas, K-Mart, Shop Rite, and Burlington Coat Factory have remained; which we admire, support, and highly recommend. Although, unfortunately, everything else the mall had to offer has had to go."

Green Acres Mall first opened in 1956 as one of Long Island's first open-air centers serving the needs of numerous communities. To create an even more appealing shopping environment, the center was enclosed in 1968, and housed three anchor stores. As the surrounding area's population continued to grow, so did the mall with an expansion and renovation in 1983 that added a second level, food court and an additional anchor, Sears.
A multimillion dollar interior and exterior renovation was finally complete in 2007 adding new sky lights, lighting, floors, stores and a four-story parking garage. |
