What if there was a school where not only you could learn to dance but you could learn about yourself, learn about others, meet new people and feel right at home? The faculty, headed by it's Director Mrs. Patricia Harry, decided to make that dream come true.

Em agosto de 1991, Leonardo Wenceslau e Elaine Reis fundaram a Academia de Dança e Arte Pé de Valsa, concretizando o sonho de ter uma escola com uma nova didática no ensino da dança de salão. Nestes 18 anos de funcionamento, mais de 5 mil alunos já passaram pela Academia, que, hoje, tem dois endereços em Belo Horizonte: nos bairros Cidade Jardim e Carlos Prates.

Iniciativa bem sucedida, o Centro de Dança de Jacarepaguá foi criado em 2003, como resultado da parceria entre as Professoras Sueli Grabinska e Paloma Collaço e tem o objetivo de proporcionar a ampla divulgação da arte da dança.
Ao longo destes quase 5 anos, o CDJ - carinhosamente chamado por seus alunos, se firmou em Jacarepaguá como uma opção de aprendizado em Dança Infantil, Ballet, Jazz e Sapateado. No CDJ há espaço para todos, seja para os que procuram formação profissionalizante, incluindo: Alongamento, Matérias Teóricas,Técnica de Pas-de-Deux e Estágios Supervisionados, ou para quem simplesmente procura uma forma prazerosa de atividade física e interação social. A instituição conta hoje com 3 unidades: Taquara, Praça Seca e Freguesia.

“Gotta Dance” Studio opened its doors on September 15, 2001. Owner, Miss Terri as she is known by her students, starting dancing at the age of 5 and always dreamed, that one day, she would open her own studio. She continued taking dance classes and was also a member of a local community theatre group for many years. There she was able to learn and develop not only her love of dance, but also her love for music, singing and acting. The performing arts has always been a big part of Miss Terri's life.
Mr. Ron & Miss Terri decided the time had come for them to fulfill the life long “Dream” and together they started searching for the perfect place. Their hope was to find a small studio where students could come and learn to love dance & music while having fun in a friendly and safe environment. Today, they are very proud of their accomplishments and are extremely grateful to all the wonderful families who have touched their lives. Their goal is to continue with this very gratifying work and in the process make “Gotta Dance” Studio, for all the families who are a part of it, a place that will be remembered and remain forever close to their hearts!

Karine Newborn was born and raised in Paris France where she studied ballet with teachers from the Paris conservatory and The Paris Opera, she also studied jazz, modern, placement and voice. At the age of 15 she started working in some of the most renowned modern jazz companies in Paris and performed in "Cats" (Paris). She continued her career in France until she moved to America to pursue bigger dreams. She worked as a dancer,Choreographer and dance teacher for well over 2 decades, and had the joy of performing in many stage shows ("Golden Boys", "Cats", "Aida" (Broadway) and numerous music videos & movies ("South Pacific" with Glenn Close, "Do You Want To Dance" etc.) trade show industrial (Nike, Asix, Abba & many more).

Konajilo Luseni is a native of Brooklyn, NY and has been dancing since the age of five. With a dance background spanning genres including modern, jazz, contemporary, hip-hop and African, Kona has choreographed, performed and taught for various children, teen and adult groups in the New York area.
Kona's love for dance set her sights to explore a new style of movement: Salsa/Mambo on2. After a year of basic training at La Salsa De Hoy, her passion for this exciting form of dance led her to seek more advance instruction at Salsa Dance Studio.

The Vicky Simegiatos Dance Company is a non-profit organization whose sole purpose is to provide cultural enrichment for the Brooklyn community. Our sponsors include BACA (Brooklyn Cultural Arts Association), New York State Council of the Arts, the New York Life Foundation, and Body Wrappers. We have established, through auditions, a Scholarship Program for talented young students who receive dance training free of charge, and participate in our professional productions.

A Associação Cultural Incomodança surge em 2004, à priori, com o intuito de servir como base legal e estrututral ao trabalho desenvolvido pela Incomodança Cia de Danças de Salão, por meio da criação de uma sede em que o corpo de baile pudesse fixar suas raízes e se desenvolver de forma mais livre e contínua. A partir do caráter social que a entidade associação possui, surgiu a idéia de se trabalhar de forma autônoma um terceiro pilar: o social. Propondo um projeto assistencial a crianças e jovens em situação de risco social. O Incomodança Solidária, projeto em fase de elaboração, propõe utilizar a dança de salão como ferramenta para a inserção social dos menores de forma ampla, proporcionando-lhes uma atividade lúdica, um momento de desenvolvimento da socialização, do respeito ao próximo e até mesmo apresentar-lhes a dança de salão enquanto uma profissão em potencial, a de professor de dança ou bailarino. A Incomodança acredita no potencial dessa arte, na capacidade que a dança de salão tem de resgate da humanidade, da identidade sócio-cultural e por isso enxerga-a não como um produto, mas sim como uma filosofia de vida. Lotus Music & Dance, a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization, was founded in 1989 by master Bharata Natyam dancer Kamala Cesar. It is a performance space, sanctuary, and center of education for traditional and indigenous performing arts forms. The mission is to keep alive and accessible the music and dance traditions of all world cultures. Lotus Music & Dance remains the only institution of its kind in New York City where master artists from India, Korea, Burma, the South Pacific, Middle East, the Mohawk Nation, West Africa, and Spain collectively call home.

O Studio de Ballet Bertha Rosanova foi fundado em 1957 numa vila em Laranjeiras, onde está localizado até hoje. É uma escola de dança especializada em ballet clássico, dirigida pela prima bailarina absoluta do Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro, Bertha Rosanova. O Studio oferece aulas para alunos a partir dos 3 anos de idade e sua estrutura educacional é dividida em 6 níveis. A equipe atual de professores é composta por bailarinos do Theatro Municipal e os formados na própria escola.

Fazendo os espetáculos pelas estradas afora, comecei a perceber que precisávamos poder estabelecer outras formas de comunicação com o público: formas de conhecimento, de troca de experiência. Precisávamos de uma escola. Nesta escola queremos pensar movimento, experimentar movimento, disciplinar, conscientizar, respirar e sensibilizar o corpo que pensa, muda, sente; que dança. Sempre acreditei na criatividade e irreverência. A concentração, disciplina, formação e o foco são a base e a possibilidade criativa de qualquer indivíduo.
A escola oferece cursos em todas as áreas relacionadas ao movimento, além das aulas de teatro, filosofia, anatomia, história da dança e eventos como exposições de artes visuais, leituras e recitais de música, integrados a dança num esforço de ampliar o horizonte dos nossos alunos.
Todo mês de janeiro e julho o Centro de Movimento Deborah Colker inclui em sua grade uma colônia e cursos especiais. A intenção da colônia de férias é ser uma escolinha de arte, oferecemos diversas atividades corporais integradas ao teatro, a dança, a música e as artes plásticas.

A corporation established by Deborah Fraulo, Carolyn Mackey & Allison Noto. After a decade of winning numerous awards and successfully teaching dance to students at local dance studio's, after school programs, competitions and auditions, these three young women decided it was time to make their long time dream a reality. In March of 2004 they set into motion their long anticipated "NEW BEGINNING" Deborah, Carolyn & Allison's success & love for teaching & choreographing led them to open their very own dance studio.

Criada em 1985, a Escola recebeu, inicialmente, o nome de Escola de Dança Chiquinha Gonzaga. Posteriormente, mudou de nome, em homenagem a Maria Antonieta, professora de Jaime Arôxa. Em 1986, já com 800 alunos, tornou-se oficialmente a Escola de Dança e Centro Cultural Jaime Arôxa, de acordo com alguns, um pequeno paraíso no meio da selva de pedra carioca
Pioneiro na arte de ensinar Dança de Salão, Jaime Arôxa formou dezenas de professores e milhares de alunos, além de atuar em todas as áreas da dança (cinema, teatro, coreografia e eventos).
