Jorday Rivera is a remarkable woman who leads a double life. By day, Jorday is an honorary Pre Med. Graduate student at St. John's University. The head intern for the chief of cardiology at The Parkway Hospital for the past four years. Within the next six months Jorday will attend either NYU or Columbia Medical School. She will study Neonatal and later become a heart surgeon and open her own practice.

BBT is a dance school dedicated to providing the highest quality dance education for girls and boys ages 2-19, as well as adults. BBT draws on the rich traditions of Russian ballet. Side Street Kids, Inc is a not for profit organization founded in 1996 and based in the Bronx. The organization provides in-school children, K-12, with positive alternatives during non school hours in the greater NY metropolitan area. Empowering youth with the necessary skills to understand and appreciate the importance of education, positive family interaction and cultural awareness through dance.

Located in New York City’s Greenwich Village, was founded in 1953 by Robert Joffrey and Gerald Arpino to develop and train professional dancers. The School continues to strive for the founders’ vision of dance based on rigorous classical training that is imbued with a sense of movement, clarity and exuberant energy.
In more than fifty years of existence, the Joffrey Ballet School has remained on the forefront of American dance education. Capoeira Angola, an ancient martial art of African origin, is one of the many cultural weapons used to break the chains of enslavement in Brazil. Played close to the ground, Capoeira Angola combines fluid, dance-like movements with kicks, head butts, tripping sweeps and the appearance of playfulness or vulnerability. Music is played on traditional instruments to accompany the players, to teach the rhythmic heart of the art, and also to mask its power. In the eyes of the enslavers it appeared to be a joking and playful acrobatic dance, but eventually its power was realized and Capoeira was outlawed. Death was the penalty paid by those caught playing Capoeira during the slavery era. For almost 400 years Capoeira Angola was taught and practiced in secret, and only in the 1930's did this African martial art become legal to teach and practice.

The history of Santo Rico dates back to 1995. The name of the dance company is derived from the initial members of the group being half from Santo Domingo (Santo) and half from Puerto Rico (Rico), hence the name "Santo Rico." Santo Rico was initially formed by Wilton Beltre, a Dominican native, who expressed his love for dance by displaying his street style of dancing Mambo/Salsa in local nightclubs in New York City. Prior to forming Santo Rico, Wilton received dancing instruction from the well renowned Eddie Torres. This gave him professionalism, grace and ultimately led to the development of a unique style. During his stint with Mr. Torres Wilton excelled and brought his dancing ability to such a high level that he became one of the most outstanding members of The Eddie Torres Dance Company.

Founded in 1981, bridges cultural barriers through the universal language of dance. From its earliest recognition on the world stage in 1982 as “best company” at the International Dance Festival of Paris, the company has succeeded for over two decades.

As a small studio Dance Centre was able to provide individual attention to each dancer. Currently with 400 students and 4 teaching rooms, we are still dedicated to each student, both as a dancer and a person.
As diverse as the art of dance itself, our faculty is made up of instructors who specialize in teaching specific forms of dance to specific age groups. Our teachers have danced on Broadway, in movies and in music videos. Their one common philosophy is that teaching the love of dance is as important as teaching the technique of dance.

He was born July 3,1950 in the same hospital as Tito Puente; raised by his Puerto Rican parents in Spanish Harlem, a.k.a. El Barrio, New York City. Torres's mother, a hospital worker; his father an inventive plumber, sparked Eddie's knack for inventing. No dancers or musicians in the gene pool to Eddie's best knowledge.

The studios are large, modern, fully mirrored with sprung floors specifically designed for dance. It is here that our students are trained in the disciplines of Ballet, Broadway Theater Dance, Musical Theater and Tap. Registration is on all levels, beginner to professional, children (3 years old) to adults. There is live musical accompaniment for most classes. Our Summer Workshop is an outgrowth of this school.
The American Theater Dance began in 1982 as The American Dancemachine, a professional company and school, whose mission it was to reconstruct, perform and preserve the great dance numbers from Broadway shows. When founder/director Lee Theodore died in 1986, we became The American Theater Dance Workshop.

Karine Newborn was born and raised in Paris France where she studied ballet with teachers from the Paris conservatory and The Paris Opera, she also studied jazz, modern, placement and voice. At the age of 15 she started working in some of the most renowned modern jazz companies in Paris and performed in "Cats" (Paris). She continued her career in France until she moved to America to pursue bigger dreams. She worked as a dancer,Choreographer and dance teacher for well over 2 decades, and had the joy of performing in many stage shows ("Golden Boys", "Cats", "Aida" (Broadway) and numerous music videos & movies ("South Pacific" with Glenn Close, "Do You Want To Dance" etc.) trade show industrial (Nike, Asix, Abba & many more).
