George Bellows (1882–1925) was regarded as one of America's greatest artists when he died, at the age of forty-two, from a ruptured appendix. Bellows's early fame rested on his powerful depictions of boxing matches and gritty scenes of New York City's tenement life, but he also painted cityscapes, seascapes, war scenes, and portraits, and made illustrations and lithographs that addressed many of the social, political, and cultural issues of the day. Featuring some one hundred works from Bellows's extensive oeuvre, this landmark loan exhibition is the first comprehensive survey of the artist's career in nearly half a century. It invites the viewer to experience the dynamic and challenging decades of the early twentieth century through the eyes of a brilliant observer.

A small, community-run museum located on the beautiful Hamakua Heritage Coast of the Big Island of Hawai'i. Honoring the colorful history of the Hilo Railroad, which began in 1899 and lasted to 1946, when railroad tracks and facilities were irreparably damaged by a devastating tidal wave. The museum is located in an old railway company home, which is furnished as it would have been in the 1930s.

Folk Art is an award-winning publication of the American Folk Art Museum. The editorial content is geared toward collectors, scholars, and the museum community interested in traditional and contemporary American folk and decorative arts. Folk Art is a membership benefit and delivered to a targeted national and international readership. In addition, Folk Art is sold at the two museum shops and on select newsstands throughout the country. Folk Art is a nonprofit magazine and is part of the educational programming of the American Folk Art Museum.

The International Wildlife Museum is dedicated to increasing knowledge and appreciation of the diverse wildlife of the world as well as explaining the role of wildlife management in conservation.
Founded in 1988, the museum highlights over 400 species of insects, mammals and birds from around the globe. The New Jersey Scout Museum was created in 2004 and is a non-profit corporation of the State of New Jersey. The Museum is not affiliated with the BSA or GSUSA. All funds for operating expenses come from donations and memberships ("Friends of the Museum"). Monmouth Council BSA graciously provides the public exhibition space.
The Museum is open to the public and admission is free (a donation is appreciated for groups).

Durante algum tempo, por exemplo, como boa parte do povo era analfabeta, usava-se a "Bíblia dos pobres", enorme e cheia de figuras, através das quais dava-se a evangelização. Assim, com o objetivo de reunir algumas obras de inspiração divina e promover uma síntese da presença da Igreja na história da arte no Brasil, idealizou-se o Museu Arquidiocesano de Arte Sacra, o MAAS. O museu reúne, em seu acervo, escultura, pintura, mobiliário, prataria, indumentária religiosa, medalhística, somando, ao todo, mais de 4.300 peças, nem todas, ainda, em exposição. Dentre as peças expostas, destacam-se a "Inspiração de São Pedro", pintada por Pedro Américo; uma cabeça de anjo esculpida por Mestre Valentim e que pertenceu à Igreja de São Pedro dos Clérigos, igreja esta, demolida para a construção da Av. Presidente Vargas; além de toda a prataria - objetos religiosos - que pertenceu à Catedral de Lisboa e que veio para o Brasil com D. João VI. Boa parte das peças do museu são provenientes do período Barroco, período este, caracterizado pelo excesso na ornamentação e pela exuberância das formas

Vinculado à Pró-Reitoria de Pesquisa e Pós-Graduação (PRPPG), o MA é um órgão suplementar da UFG, e tem em seu caráter dinâmico e pedagógico, suas principais características.

Uma ideia antiga de alguém que desde criança foi apaixonado por carros se tornou realidade em 21 de setembro de 1999, quando foi inaugurado o Museu de Automóvel de São Paulo. Romeu Siciliano começou a juntar carros em sua casa e quando se deu conta, tinha o suficiente para fundar o museu.
Os visitantes além de apreciarem as raridades que vão de carros antigos até motocicletas, lambretas, vespas, triciclos, caminhões, podem conhecer a história e a evolução do automóvel. O Museu possui exposições rotativas, em que frequentemente são trocados os automóveis.

O Museu de Artes e Ofícios é um museu brasileiro localizado na cidade de Belo Horizonte. Inaugurado em 14 de dezembro de 2005, é o primeiro empreendimento museológico brasileiro dedicado integralmente ao tema do trabalho, das artes e ofícios no país. Com 9.000 m² de área, o museu está instalado no conjunto histórico da antiga Estação Central da rede ferroviária, na Praça Rui Barbosa, mais conhecida como "Praça da Estação". No mesmo local funcionam ainda hoje uma estação de metrô e um ramal ferroviário. É um dos museus mas bem estruturados do Brasil em termos de organização, estrutura para as exposições, e uso de recursos audiovisuais.

Não bastasse a sua imponência volumétrica através do vocabulário arquitetônico do mais puro gosto eclético francês, recebeu a assinatura de paternidade de um dos mais destacados arquitetos do início do século XX, Heitor de Mello, que a partir da criação de um projeto com a imagem sofisticada de belle époque da sociedade carioca, engajou-se na atitude política do então governo da Capital Federal, no sentido de modernizar, embelezar e sanear a Cidade do Rio de Janeiro.

A Casa do Patrimônio Ferroviário Brasileiro, conhecido como Museu do Trem, administrado pela REDE FERROVIÁRIA FEDERAL, foi inaugurado em fevereiro de 1984. Instalado no antigo galpão de pinturas de carros da Estrada de Ferro Pedro II. São destaques: A BARONEZA, construída na Inglaterra, foi a primeira locomotiva a trafegar no Brasil em 1854. O CARRO IMPERIAL que foi fabricado em 1886, na Bélgica, para servir ao imperador D. Pedro II; O CARRO DO REI ALBERTO, que fazia parte da composição adaptada exclusivamente para servir ao Rei da Bélgica, em 1921, por ocasião da sua visita ao Brasil e O CARRO PRESIDENCIAL que serviu a Getulio Vargas na década de 30. O Museu Casa de Portinari foi instalado e inaugurado em 14 de março de 1970, constituindo-se de uma casa principal, dois anexos e uma capela.
A sua entidade mantenedora é a Secretaria de Estado da Cultura, estando especificamente vinculado ao DEMA - Departamento de Museus e Arquivos da referida Secretaria.
A inclusão do Museu Casa de Portinari na Rede de Museus da Secretaria da Cultura do Estado deu-se através do Decreto de 08 de abril de 1970.

O local em que se instalou o MAE corresponde aos vestígios arquitetônicos do que foi o amplo e complexo edifício do Real Colégio dos Jesuítas, que incluía a atual Catedral Basílica. Construído, em sua maior parte, no século XVI, este exemplar único de arquitetura seiscentista/setecentista serviu como hospital militar após, a expulsão dos Jesuítas (1759), e mais tarde, ai se instalou a Escola de Cirurgia, fundada por Dom João VI, à sua chegada ao Brasil. Este conjunto arquitetônico foi modificado, em grande parte, inclusive com demolições, para se edificar um novo prédio, no final do século XIX. Após o incêndio ocorrido em 1905 as modificações arquitetônicas feitas por ocasião da reconstrução do prédio foram profundas, voltando este a abrigar a Faculdade de Medicina após a conclusão da reforma.

A visita ao Museu inicia-se no Centro de Recepção, destinado a orientar e informar os visitantes. Esta estação é o ponto de embarque do Trenzinho da Ciência, o início da aventura. Espaço de integração entre ciência, cultura e sociedade, o Museu da Vida tem por objetivo informar e educar em ciência, saúde e tecnologia de forma lúdica e criativa, através de exposições permanentes, atividades interativas, multimídias, teatro, vídeo e laboratórios. Por ser vinculado à Fundação Oswaldo Cruz, o Museu assume características únicas, refletindo a cultura, a missão e o compromisso social da instituição. Seus temas centrais são a vida enquanto objeto do conhecimento, saúde como qualidade de vida e a intervenção do homem sobre a vida.

The DOCKYARD MUSEUM in the Naval Officer's House interprets the story of English Harbour and of the people that toiled in this famous Georgian Royal Naval Yard. It also explains the 20th century return of sailing ships and the aims and aspirations of Nelson's Dockyard National Park. There is also a small "Nelson's Room" with a life sized portrait of Nelson researched through archaeological means.
