A Casa do Patrimônio Ferroviário Brasileiro, conhecido como Museu do Trem, administrado pela REDE FERROVIÁRIA FEDERAL, foi inaugurado em fevereiro de 1984. Instalado no antigo galpão de pinturas de carros da Estrada de Ferro Pedro II. São destaques: A BARONEZA, construída na Inglaterra, foi a primeira locomotiva a trafegar no Brasil em 1854. O CARRO IMPERIAL que foi fabricado em 1886, na Bélgica, para servir ao imperador D. Pedro II; O CARRO DO REI ALBERTO, que fazia parte da composição adaptada exclusivamente para servir ao Rei da Bélgica, em 1921, por ocasião da sua visita ao Brasil e O CARRO PRESIDENCIAL que serviu a Getulio Vargas na década de 30. The Grey Nuns' convent, Winnipeg's oldest building, houses Le Musée de Saint-Boniface Museum. Built for the Grey Nuns who arrived in the Red River Colony in 1844, the structure is an outstanding example of Red River frame construction. The Museum presents an impressive collection of artifacts that reveal the lives and culture of the Francophone and Métis communities of Manitoba, including a special exhibit about Louis Riel, the "father" of Manitoba.

The Nepean Museum, established in 1983, and housed in what was the first modern Nepean Library, is operated by Nepean Museum Inc., a non-profit organization. Complimenting the Board of Trustees is a professional staff, a strong membership base and a dedicated volunteer group.
The Nepean Museum is dedicated to collect, preserve, research, exhibit and interpret the works of man and nature, and thereby stimulate a greater interest in, knowledge of and enthusiasm for the City among both residents and visitors.

The Museum houses some 535,000 ethnographic and archaeological objects, many of which originate from the Northwest Coast of British Columbia. Massive totem poles, carved boxes, bowls, and feast dishes are featured in the Museum's Great Hall, while smaller (but no less magnificent) pieces in gold, silver, argillite, wood, ceramic, and other materials are exhibited elsewhere in the galleries.

The American Helicopter Museum and Education Center is the nation's premier aviation museum devoted exclusively to helicopters. We collect, restore and display historic aircraft and chronicle the origin and development of rotary wing aircraft. Each year the Museum hosts thousands of visitors, school groups, families and senior citizens. Tourists of all ages from the U.S and abroad come here to witness the history and the future of the helicopter.

Artists in the park are encouraged to utilize their unique and sprawling designs to capture the masses and produce a unique form of creative expression. The Park not only displays these amazing works, but also offers a variety of hands-on experiences and guest lecturers to give the newly aspiring artists the motivation to break through society’s norms and create their own legacy. Coming up in Summer 2012, the Park will be offering several unique workshops focusing on giving back to the community and utilizing one’s talents for the greater good of society. These workshops will include demonstrations on personal wellbeing, ways to volunteer and give back to the community, and the benefits of green technology. The Socrates Sculpture Park has raised the bar on what a museum experience should be and continues to benefit not only New York City but also the world.

O Museu de Ciências da Terra - MCTer possui um dos acervos de geologia e paleontologia mais ricos da América Latina. São cerca de 7 mil amostras de minerais brasileiros e estrangeiros, além de 12 mil rochas, meteoritos e fósseis, que somam mais de 100 mil espécimes. O Museu pertence ao Serviço Geológico do Brasil, antiga Companhia de Pesquisa de Recursos Minerais (CPRM).

All of the buildings, track, locomotives and cars were assembled here at Union on what was once farmland. Our main line trackage was laid on the vacant right-of-way of the Elgin & Belvidere Electric railway. Why would rational adults freely contribute so much of their time and treasure to creating this repository of railroad history?
To answer this question, we must remember that at one time in our nation's past the railroad industry was the largest private employer. With so many families supported by one enterprise, the widespread interest in that industry is understandable....manifesting itself in special interest groups devoted to various activities such as taking railroad pictures or publishing books on railroads, building railroad models or just "riding the rails," The Illinois Railway Museum is probably the ultimate railroad historian special interest group. Originally formed to preserve one important piece of rolling stock, it has evolved into an educational and historic preservation organization recreating possibly the largest operating demonstration railroad showcase on the North American continent.

The Idaho Military History Museum has been established for the purpose of "preservation, display and interpretation of military history and artifacts that have a geographical tie to the history of the people and state of Idaho".

O Centro Cultural do Banco do Brasil (CCBB) do Rio de Janeiro é um dos quatro CCBBs do país, que também existem nas capitais Brasília, São Paulo e Belo Horizonte. A Estação Ciência - USP é um centro de ciências interativo que realiza exposições e atividades nas áreas de Astronomia, Meteorologia, Física, Geologia, Geografia, Biologia, História, Informática, Tecnologia, Matemática, Humanidades, além de cursos, eventos e outras atividades, com o objetivo de popularizar a ciência e promover a educação científica de forma lúdica e prazerosa.
Para receber os visitantes, a Estação Ciência tem uma equipe de estagiários (estudantes universitários) que auxiliam nos experimentos, fornecem informações e esclarecem dúvidas sobre as exposições.

Formado inicialmente ao longo dos anos 40 e 50 por inúmeras doações de artistas, empresários e algumas instituições oficiais, o acervo do Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio de Janeiro constituiu-se uma das coleções de arte do século XX mais importantes no país. O Museu do Índio, órgão científico-cultural da Fundação Nacional do Índio (Funai), foi criado por Darcy Ribeiro, no Rio de Janeiro, em 1953. É a única instituição oficial no país exclusivamente dedicada às culturas indígenas. Seu objetivo é divulgar uma imagem correta, atualizada e sem preconceitos dessas sociedades junto a variados públicos, despertando, assim, o interesse pela causa indígena. Realiza, também, estudos e pesquisas para ampliar e aprofundar os conhecimentos sobre esses povos..

O Museu da UFRGS, desde sua criação, vem desenvolvendo exposições e projetos especiais de difusão científica, tecnológica, artística e cultural. Foram promovidas diferentes ações educativas e culturais com acervos pertencentes à Universidade e Instituições associadas.

Considerado, ainda em vida, o maior compositor das Américas, Heitor Villa-Lobos compôs cerca de 1.000 obras e sua importância reside, entre outros aspectos, no fato de ter reformulado o conceito de nacionalismo musical, tornando-se seu maior expoente. Foi, também, através de Villa-Lobos que a música brasileira se fez representar em outros países, culminando por se universalizar.

Construída por volta de 1860, pelo médico José Martins Rocha, a casa é vendida ao Industrial Português José Francisco Correia - Visconde de Sande e depois Conde de Agrolongo (Títulos recebidos em Portugal).
Em 1903, o Conde retira-se para Portugal e põe a residência a leilão com todos os seus pertences, não aparecendo comprador. Pela mesma época a Capital era transferida de Petrópolis para Niterói e o Governador Nilo Peçanha resolveu adquirir o palacete para sede do governo, consumando-se a venda em 1904. Durante os 71 anos seguintes, teve o Palácio, 43 ocupantes entre governadores interinos e interventores federais.

The DOCKYARD MUSEUM in the Naval Officer's House interprets the story of English Harbour and of the people that toiled in this famous Georgian Royal Naval Yard. It also explains the 20th century return of sailing ships and the aims and aspirations of Nelson's Dockyard National Park. There is also a small "Nelson's Room" with a life sized portrait of Nelson researched through archaeological means.
