The station was built in 1907 and originally was the home to Hook and Ladder Company No. 3. The Museum boasts a fantastic collection of fire apparatus including “Old Tige”, an 1884 horse-drawn steam pumper named after then mayor W.L. Cabell. Other apparatus include some of the first motorized engines that were used by the Dallas Fire Department. Children can indulge their fascination with firefighters by climbing on a 1951 Fire engine, pulling on their helmet, and pretending they are on their way to “save the day”. There is over 100 years of firefighting history through a collection of extinguishers, helmets, tools, uniforms, etc… While you are there, listen to the sounds of present day firefighters responding to alarms and serving the citizens of Dallas

The non-profit Alaska Museum of Natural History fills a special need for science education in Alaska. No other organization in the state educates exclusively on Alaska's unique geological, cultural, and ecological history.
In 1989, two University of Alaska, Anchorage professors began a collaborative effort to establish a natural history museum. The museum opened in Eagle River, Alaska in May of 1994 and in addition to displaying exciting natural science exhibits has provided regular science education classes for school-aged children and adults.

A world-renowned zoo, natural history museum and botanical garden, all in one place! Exhibits re-create the natural landscape of the Sonoran Desert Region so realistically you find yourself eye-to-eye with mountain lions, prairie dogs, Gila monsters, and more. Within the Museum grounds, you will see more than 300 animal species and 1,200 kinds of plants. There are almost 2 miles of paths traversing 21 acres of beautiful desert.

A Igreja sempre se utilizou da arte como forma de anúncio da Palavra de Deus. Durante algum tempo, por exemplo, como boa parte do povo era analfabeta, usava-se a "Bíblia dos pobres", enorme e cheia de figuras, através das quais dava-se a evangelização. Assim, com o objetivo de reunir algumas obras de inspiração divina e promover uma síntese da presença da Igreja na história da arte no Brasil, idealizou-se o Museu Arquidiocesano de Arte Sacra, o MAAS. O museu reúne, em seu acervo, escultura, pintura, mobiliário, prataria, indumentária religiosa, medalhística, somando, ao todo, mais de 4.300 peças, nem todas, ainda, em exposição. Dentre as peças expostas, destacam-se a "Inspiração de São Pedro", pintada por Pedro Américo; uma cabeça de anjo esculpida por Mestre Valentim e que pertenceu à Igreja de São Pedro dos Clérigos, igreja esta, demolida para a construção da Av. Presidente Vargas; além de toda a prataria - objetos religiosos - que pertenceu à Catedral de Lisboa e que veio para o Brasil com D. João VI. The museum is dedicated to historical accuracy in presenting the lifestyle and culture of the Antebellum South, a unique civilization, misunderstood by many, belittled and misrepresented by some, but deeply revered by the grateful descendants of the brave men and women whose sacrifices and dedication to a cause that created a chapter in our nation’s history that is unmatched. Special attention is given to the education of young people as groups of school children are given basic education in our nation’s history in the hope that they will better understand and perhaps develop an interest in learning more about their history.

O Museu da Casa Brasileira guarda e conserva objetos, móveis e equipamentos de várias épocas da história da moradia no Brasil. Construído entre 1942 e 1945, o antigo Solar Prado, implantado em um terreno de aproximadamente 15.000 m², é uma réplica do Palácio Imperial de Petrópolis, no Rio de Janeiro. O Museu é um importante núcleo de pesquisa, discussão de arquitetura e design. Sua biblioteca foi organizada e formaram-se uma vioteca e um acervo de documentação contemporânea brasileira e internacional.

O Museu Nacional/UFRJ está vinculado ao Ministério da Educação. É a mais antiga instituição científica do Brasil e o maior museu de história natural e antropológica da América Latina. Criado por D. João VI, em 06 de junho de 1818 e, inicialmente, sediado no Campo de Sant’Anna, serviu para atender aos interesses de promoção do progresso cultural e econômico no país. Alojar-se no Paço de São Cristóvão, a partir de 1892 - residência da Família Imperial brasileira até 1889 - deu ao Museu um caráter ímpar frente às outras instituições do gênero.

Uma ideia antiga de alguém que desde criança foi apaixonado por carros se tornou realidade em 21 de setembro de 1999, quando foi inaugurado o Museu de Automóvel de São Paulo. Romeu Siciliano começou a juntar carros em sua casa e quando se deu conta, tinha o suficiente para fundar o museu.
Os visitantes além de apreciarem as raridades que vão de carros antigos até motocicletas, lambretas, vespas, triciclos, caminhões, podem conhecer a história e a evolução do automóvel. O Museu possui exposições rotativas, em que frequentemente são trocados os automóveis. |

Projetado pelo arquiteto Oscar Niemeyer, o Museu, construído no Mirante da Boa Viagem, local privilegiado que se debruça sobre as águas da Baía de Guanabara e leva o olhar do visitante até o outro lado, onde estão o Corcovado e o Pão de Açúcar. Niemeyer afirmava que ao visitar o local "imaginou o museu como qualquer coisa solta na paisagem, um pássaro branco a se lançar sobre o céu e o mar de Niterói"; o que quer dizer um supremo respeito à paisagem. Malba - Fundación Costantini fue fundado en septiembre de 2001 con el objetivo de coleccionar, preservar, estudiar y difundir el arte latinoamericano desde principios del siglo XX hasta la actualidad.
Proyectado en 1998 por la Fundación Eduardo F. Costantini, Malba es una institución privada sin fines de lucro que conserva y exhibe como patrimonio fundacional un conjunto de más de doscientas obras de los principales artistas latinoamericanos modernos y contemporáneos.
Malba funciona simultáneamente como un espacio dinámico y plural de producción de actividades culturales y educativas, entre las que se incluyen ciclos de cine, encuentros con escritores, charlas con artistas, cursos, talleres y debates, visitas guiadas y programas infantiles. |

A Casa do Patrimônio Ferroviário Brasileiro, conhecido como Museu do Trem, administrado pela REDE FERROVIÁRIA FEDERAL, foi inaugurado em fevereiro de 1984. Instalado no antigo galpão de pinturas de carros da Estrada de Ferro Pedro II. São destaques: A BARONEZA, construída na Inglaterra, foi a primeira locomotiva a trafegar no Brasil em 1854. O CARRO IMPERIAL que foi fabricado em 1886, na Bélgica, para servir ao imperador D. Pedro II; O CARRO DO REI ALBERTO, que fazia parte da composição adaptada exclusivamente para servir ao Rei da Bélgica, em 1921, por ocasião da sua visita ao Brasil e O CARRO PRESIDENCIAL que serviu a Getulio Vargas na década de 30. Instalado em Ipanema, o Museu Amsterdam Sauer de Pedras Preciosas e Minerais Raros é uma preciosidade no bairro mais fashion do Rio de Janeiro. Num cenário típico das regiões produtoras de gemas, pode-se observar réplicas de minas de esmeraldas, águas-marinhas e turmalinas, pedras típicas do Brasil. Estão em exibição mais de três mil pedras brutas e lapidadas - esmeraldas, rubilitas, águas-marinhas (incluindo um exemplar de 635 quilates), turmalinas, topázios imperiais... Algumas delas são destaques no Guiness Book - O Livro dos Recordes. O Museu Amsterdam Sauer faz parte do roteiro dos mais importantes pontos turístico-culturais do Rio.

The DOCKYARD MUSEUM in the Naval Officer's House interprets the story of English Harbour and of the people that toiled in this famous Georgian Royal Naval Yard. It also explains the 20th century return of sailing ships and the aims and aspirations of Nelson's Dockyard National Park. There is also a small "Nelson's Room" with a life sized portrait of Nelson researched through archaeological means.
