Cathy's Dance Studio was founded in 1956 by Miss Cathy Dooley and has carried out one tradition for over the past 53 years - a mission of sharing the art of dance with children of all ages and adding the excitement of cutting edge dance techniques.
Miss Cathy had a vision of bringing quality dance instruction at affordable prices to every student who had the desire to dance. And she shared that vision with the people of Astoria for over 26 years.
Today, Miss Michelle continues Cathy's Dance Studio's mission by fostering the arts in our community and attracting dancers from all of New York City's five boroughs, as well as Long Island, upstate New York, and New Jersey.

As a small studio Dance Centre was able to provide individual attention to each dancer. Currently with 400 students and 4 teaching rooms, we are still dedicated to each student, both as a dancer and a person.

Melissa Marotto has been dancing for over 20 years, beginning her dance training at The Walnut Hill School for the Arts in Natick, Massachusetts. She earned her BFA in dance with a concentration in pedagogy from The Boston Conservatory, where she revived the historical work for Jose Limon with Jennifer Scanlon and worked with contemporary choreographers such as Donald Byrd and Sean Curran. With a strong background in ballet, Ms. Marotto has also studied Graham, Horton, Limon, and Simonson techniques with certified instructors from all over the country.

Champion Irish dancer and former lead of Riverdance, Kathleen Ryan, has expanded Ryan Irish Dance Academy to five locations across Nassau County.
Miss Kathleen has been dancing for more than 25 years, launching her international career with Riverdance on Broadway in 2000 and touring widely across North America with the iconic Celtic company until April 2005.

Carlinhos de Niterói - Professor, bailarino e coreógrafo, segue a metodologia do seu mestre Jaime Arôxa por 15 anos. Inaugurou a filial Jaime Arôxa Niterói no dia 07/7/2001. Se formou em Dança de Salão e Coreografia pela Universidade Estácio de Sá no dia 4 de julho de 2008. Viaja para Buenos Aires uma ou duas vezes ao ano levando alunos para passeio e para reciclagem de tango.

A Luna Llena Danças, foi fundada em 1999 por Suraya Helayel, bailarina, professora e coreógrafa de Flamenco, a partir do grupo Luna Llena. Vem difundindo a cultura flamenca em Niterói, apresentando suas músicas, ensinando suas danças e mantendo vivos estilos e tradições.

Concebido e administrado pela ex-diretora da Fundação Theatro Municipal, a ex bailarina Dalal Achcar dirige há mais de trinta anos a instituição que leva o seu nome, o Ballet Dalal Achcar, uma das principais referências do ballet clássico no Brasil. Tem sido um complemento indispensável na educação de jovens e crianças desde 1971, e é responsável pela formação de excelentes profissionais, muitos com bolsa de estudo no exterior. Agora, além da reconhecida tradição no ballet clássico, o Ballet Dalal Achcar oferece uma variedade de técnicas que abre as portas da escola para novos grupos de alunos com diferentes objetivos

O nosso propósito é difundir a Dança de Salão com profissionalismo, ética e respeito em um ambiente saudável, familiar e acolhedor, com professores capacitados e bem qualificados. A Academia Alvaro`s Dance foi fundada no dia 12 de Maio de 2005. Dirigida pelo pelo professor, diretor e coreógrafo Álvaro Reys o Espaço busca expandir a cultura da dança de salão no Rio de Janeiro e a conscientização de que essa dança é um instrumento de inclusão social, perda de timidez e estímulo da auto-estima através da expressão corporal.
A metodologia de ensino prioriza as aulas cantadas, possibilitando ao aluno relembrar em todas as aulas os passos aprendidos em aulas anteriores e as aulas baile que ensinam os (as) alunos (as) como se comportarem diante de seu parceiro (a) no salão de festas.
Atualmente, recebe também, alunos de outros estados para aulas e oficinas numa abrangência de rítmos que vai do balé clássico à dança flamenca, entre outras, como tango, salsa e zouk.

Palavras do Mestre Toni Sá: “Em nossa dança de salão não há regras que digam o que é certo ou errado, então, temos que nos basear pelo bom gosto, contudo há uma obrigatoriedade incontestável, o ritmo. Tudo é nada sem ritmo. Por mais e melhores passos que o casal use, com toda elegância e suavidade, se estiverem fora da música estarão errados. Um dito popular que se aplica perfeitamente neste nosso caso é: “tem que se dançar conforme a música”. Não é a orquestra que deve acompanhar o dançarino(a), e sim o contrário.”

A elaboração de um nítido desenho espacial, aliado a um entendimento temporal não restritivo, conduz a uma outra relação, esta especialmente constitutiva dos trabalhos da Esther Weitzman Companhia de Dança: a utilização do peso e da leveza e o jogo de oposições e contrastes que daí nasce. O Studio Casa de Pedra - Centro de Educação e Arte do Movimento tem como objetivo principal desenvolver um trabalho voltado para o conhecimento do corpo, com uma proposta pedagógica que visa a expansão das possibilidades expressivas de cada indivíduo.
