The cornerstone of Brooklyn’s enlightened history and the pinnacle of museum life, the Brooklyn Historical Society takes everything that is Brooklyn and makes it vibrant and tangible for all to experience. The Brooklyn Historical Society is not just a museum; it’s the very vehicle designed to preserve and present the past. Every single aspect of Brooklyn’s history is represented within the Queen Anne styled building and offers something for everybody. If you are a baseball buff then you can relive the days of Duke Snyder and the Brooklyn Dodgers through the sports exhibit. If you are from a Jewish heritage you can learn more about the significant history of the Jews in New York through the Brooklyn Jewish Historical Initiative. Even the most prominent New Yorkers are featured within the Brooklyn Historical Society, giving you an opportunity to dive into the immense history of New York and how Brooklyn’s populace played its part in setting that stage. Summer 2012 marks the time of remodeling of the Brooklyn Historical Society which will further expand its walls and give even more people an opportunity to see the real Brooklyn. The Brooklyn Historical Society is one of the most awe-inspiring and enlightening experiences available in New York City and needs to be visited live in order to be appreciated fully.

The mission of the Greater Cape May Historical Society is to collect, preserve, document , interpret and share the history of the greater Cape May area. The headquarters of this 26year old organization is the Colonial House Museum c 1775, located behind Alexander’s Restaurant and next to Cape May City Hall at 653 ½ Washington St, Cape May. This museum was originally a tavern and the family house of Revolutionary War Patriot Memucan Hughes. The front room features an annually changing exhibit. Other rooms open to the public in this unsung survivor from Cape Island’s very beginning depict a colonial era cooking/eating room and bedroom.

West Point Museum. All visitors to the United States Military Academy are encouraged to tour the Museum to view what is considered to be the oldest and largest diversified public collection of miltaria in the Western Hemisphere.
As a department of the United States Military Academy, the Museum supports cadet academic, military and cultural instruction. Its collections include nearly all aspects of military history and encompass the history of West Point and the United States Military Academy, the evolution of warfare, and the development of the American Armed Forces. While only a portion of the collection is on display, all artifacts are available for cadet academic instruction, special exhibition and research. |

In 1895, the New Jersey State Legislature formally established the New Jersey State Museum in the capital city of Trenton with a mission to collect and exhibit specimens in natural history, archaeology, and industrial history. The State Museum was initially accredited by the American Association of Museums in 1974. Since 1983 it has been a division of the New Jersey Department of State.

O edifício da Bolsa Oficial do Café passou por restauração, concluída em 1998, realizada com muita competência pelo Governo do Estado de São Paulo, tornou o prédio um monumento de grandiosa imponência histórica, oferecendo instalações muito adequadas para o funcionamento do Museu do Café, dentro de uma concepção moderna e versátil. No mesmo ano foi concedido à Associação dos Amigos dos Cafés do Brasil, através do Decreto Estadual n° 43.389, de 18 de agosto de 1998, a Permissão de Uso, com o propósito bem definido de ser instituído o Museu do Café.

Construído em 1914, com o objetivo de reforçar a defesa da Baía de Guanabara, o Forte de Copacabana oferece aos seus visitantes muitas curiosidades e atrações. No Museu Histórico do Exército, fatos marcantes estão registrados através de exposições, exibições de vídeo, maquetes e, até, um setor interativo, original e bastante visitado pelos freqüentadores do Forte. A Estação Ciência - USP é um centro de ciências interativo que realiza exposições e atividades nas áreas de Astronomia, Meteorologia, Física, Geologia, Geografia, Biologia, História, Informática, Tecnologia, Matemática, Humanidades, além de cursos, eventos e outras atividades, com o objetivo de popularizar a ciência e promover a educação científica de forma lúdica e prazerosa.
Para receber os visitantes, a Estação Ciência tem uma equipe de estagiários (estudantes universitários) que auxiliam nos experimentos, fornecem informações e esclarecem dúvidas sobre as exposições. |

A Fundação Casa de Rui Barbosa tem sede na casa onde residiu o grande jurista e intelectual brasileiro entre 1895 e 1923, data de sua morte. Comprada pelo governo brasileiro em 1924, juntamente com a biblioteca, os arquivos e a propriedade intelectual das obras de Rui Barbosa, a casa foi aberta ao público como museu - o primeiro museu-casa do Brasil - em 1930.

O Museu do Amanhã é um museu de artes e ciências construído no Pier da Praça Mauá, no Centro do Rio de Janeiro, como âncora do projeto de revitalização urbana da Região Portuária da cidade, o Porto Maravilha. Projetado pelo arquiteto espanhol Santiago Calatrava, o Museu do Amanhã é uma iniciativa da Prefeitura do Rio, concebido e realizado em conjunto com a Fundação Roberto Marinho (Grupo Globo) e o Banco Santander como Patrocinador Master. Orientado pelos valores da Sustentabilidade e da Convivência, o Museu busca promover a inovação, divulgar os avanços da ciência e publicar os sinais vitais do planeta, alertando para os riscos das mudanças climáticas provocadas pela degradação ambiental.

O Paço Imperial é um Centro Cultural com rica programação artística, localizado na Praça XV de Novembro, no centro histórico da cidade, no prédio considerado o mais importante dos edifícios civis coloniais do Brasil. Foi primeiro a residência dos governadores da Capitania do Rio de Janeiro e depois passou a ser a casa de despachos, sucessivamente, do Vice-Rei do Brasil, do Rei de Portugal Dom João VI e dos imperadores do Brasil. Em sua restauração, na reconstituição da fachada, optou-se pela feição colonial, adquirida particularmente no período da ocupação pela Família Real Portuguesa, mas foram preservadas marcas e formas de vários outros momentos históricos. O Paço Imperial conta com uma diversificada programação de artes plásticas, cinema, teatro, música, biblioteca, atividades educativas, seminários, serviços de lojas e restaurantes.
Percorrê-lo é fazer uma releitura do tempo inscrito em seus espaços, relacionando-os com épocas e fatos ocorridos. As exposições permanentes também são um ótimo programa cultural.

O Museu Nacional/UFRJ está vinculado ao Ministério da Educação. É a mais antiga instituição científica do Brasil e o maior museu de história natural e antropológica da América Latina. Criado por D. João VI, em 06 de junho de 1818 e, inicialmente, sediado no Campo de Sant’Anna, serviu para atender aos interesses de promoção do progresso cultural e econômico no país. Alojar-se no Paço de São Cristóvão, a partir de 1892 - residência da Família Imperial brasileira até 1889 - deu ao Museu um caráter ímpar frente às outras instituições do gênero.

Museu Histórico Nacional, criado em 1922, é um dos mais importantes museus do Brasil, reunindo um acervo de mais de 287.000 itens, entre os quais a maior coleção de numismática da América Latina.
O conjunto arquitetônico que abriga o Museu desenvolveu-se a partir do Forte de Santiago, na Ponta do Calabouço, um dos pontos estratégicos para a defesa da cidade do Rio de Janeiro. Visando recuperar a arquitetura original, ampliar espaços destinados ao público, aprimorar os serviços oferecidos aos visitantes, democratizar o acesso dos mais diversos segmentos da sociedade e viabilizar uma circulação e um percurso adequados ao discurso museográfico, o conjunto arquitetônico que abriga o Museu passou, entre 2003 e 2006, por importantes obras de restauração e modernização. |

O Museu do Ceará foi a primeira instituição museológica oficial do Estado, criada por decreto em 1932, mas aberto oficialmente ao público em janeiro de 1933, com a denominação de Museu Histórico do Ceará. Inicialmente foi concebido como uma das dependências do Arquivo Público, situado na rua 24 de Maio, nº 238, no centro de Fortaleza. No início de 1934, o Arquivo e o Museu foram transferidos para a Avenida Alberto Nepomuceno, nº 332, em frente à Praça da Sé. Hoje esses edifícios já não existem mais. Sua principal missão é promover a reflexão crítica sobre a História do Ceará por meio de programas integrados de pesquisas museológicas, exposições, cursos, publicações e práticas pedagógicas.

The DOCKYARD MUSEUM in the Naval Officer's House interprets the story of English Harbour and of the people that toiled in this famous Georgian Royal Naval Yard. It also explains the 20th century return of sailing ships and the aims and aspirations of Nelson's Dockyard National Park. There is also a small "Nelson's Room" with a life sized portrait of Nelson researched through archaeological means.
