A Casa do Patrimônio Ferroviário Brasileiro, conhecido como Museu do Trem, administrado pela REDE FERROVIÁRIA FEDERAL, foi inaugurado em fevereiro de 1984. Instalado no antigo galpão de pinturas de carros da Estrada de Ferro Pedro II. São destaques: A BARONEZA, construída na Inglaterra, foi a primeira locomotiva a trafegar no Brasil em 1854. O CARRO IMPERIAL que foi fabricado em 1886, na Bélgica, para servir ao imperador D. Pedro II; O CARRO DO REI ALBERTO, que fazia parte da composição adaptada exclusivamente para servir ao Rei da Bélgica, em 1921, por ocasião da sua visita ao Brasil e O CARRO PRESIDENCIAL que serviu a Getulio Vargas na década de 30. Created by Isamu Noguchi (1904-1988), The Noguchi Museum opened in 1985, presenting a comprehensive collection of the artist's works in stone, metal, wood, and clay, as well as models for public projects and gardens, dance sets, and Akari Light Sculptures. The Museum--chartered as The Noguchi Museum--is housed in thirteen galleries within a converted factory building and encircles a garden containing major granite and basalt sculptures.
After a two-and-a-half year long renovation, the Museum re-opened in June 2004 with the addition of an education center, a new cafe and shop, more adequate handicap accessibility, and a heating and cooling system that allows the Museum to remain open year-round. Besides launching its first-ever program of temporary exhibitions, the Museum has created a special gallery devoted to Noguchi's celebrated work in interior design.

The Noble Maritime Museum is a tribute to maritime culture and displays the people and traditions of the working waterfront in its educational exhibitions. This is significant because the museum was built around the houseboat home of John A. Noble, the famous maritime artist and recorder of the past. The Noble Maritime Museum plays host to much of his life’s work in documenting the end of the Age of Sail. It is a beautiful example of the history of Maritime events. Several of the exhibitions include the oil paintings of John A. Noble with special focus on ship models and crew presentations, a look at merchant ships and their effect on New York trade, and a Spring 2012 opening of a Titanic exhibit. Also featured at the museum is the history of Sailors' Snug Harbor, the famous retirement home and the oldest charitable institution in America. This New York City museum is a significant part of Staten Island museums and culture, and continues to bring New Yorkers in to visit a storied part of America’s past.

The Summerville-Dorchester Museum is located in the former Summerville Police station. It is a tribute to the vision of our Board of Directors, members and volunteers; and is a successful example of recycling an old building into a useful community facility.

The Children’s Museum is developmentally appropriate for elementary aged children and younger, however we find that some older children enjoy the museum when accompanying younger visitors. A Igreja sempre se utilizou da arte como forma de anúncio da Palavra de Deus. Durante algum tempo, por exemplo, como boa parte do povo era analfabeta, usava-se a "Bíblia dos pobres", enorme e cheia de figuras, através das quais dava-se a evangelização. Assim, com o objetivo de reunir algumas obras de inspiração divina e promover uma síntese da presença da Igreja na história da arte no Brasil, idealizou-se o Museu Arquidiocesano de Arte Sacra, o MAAS. O museu reúne, em seu acervo, escultura, pintura, mobiliário, prataria, indumentária religiosa, medalhística, somando, ao todo, mais de 4.300 peças, nem todas, ainda, em exposição. Dentre as peças expostas, destacam-se a "Inspiração de São Pedro", pintada por Pedro Américo; uma cabeça de anjo esculpida por Mestre Valentim e que pertenceu à Igreja de São Pedro dos Clérigos, igreja esta, demolida para a construção da Av. Presidente Vargas; além de toda a prataria - objetos religiosos - que pertenceu à Catedral de Lisboa e que veio para o Brasil com D. João VI. Boa parte das peças do museu são provenientes do período Barroco, período este, caracterizado pelo excesso na ornamentação e pela exuberância das formas

O Centro Cultural do Banco do Brasil (CCBB) do Rio de Janeiro é um dos quatro CCBBs do país, que também existem nas capitais Brasília, São Paulo e Belo Horizonte. Os Centros são espaços multidisciplinares com programação regular (seis dias por semana), nas áreas de artes cênicas, cinema, exposição, ideias (palestras, debates, seminários etc), música e programa educativo. O CCBB oferece ao público uma programação cultural que é referência no Rio de Janeiro e no Brasil. Com projetos nas mais diversas áreas, o Centro tem um volume de freqüentadores comparável ao de outras grandes instituições culturais do mundo.
Nos vários campos da arte, a programação procura oferecer obras que vão do clássico ao experimental, do erudito ao popular, dos grandes mestres aos talentos iniciantes. Esses critérios de seleção permitem ao CCBB alcançar freqüentadores com os mais abrangentes níveis de interesse. Instalado no número 66 da Rua Primeiro de Março, o Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil é uma das jóias arquitetônicas da Cidade. Seus espaços, organizados e adornados com elementos neoclássicos, abrigam três teatros, sala de cinema, sala de vídeo, cinco salas de exposições, biblioteca com 140 mil títulos, museu e arquivo histórico, videoteca e salão para conferências e palestras. O freqüentador dispõe ainda de restaurante, casa de chá, bombonière e loja de produtos culturais.

Em 1556, o Pe.Afonso Brás finalizou a construção em taipa da primeira Igreja dos jesuítas em São Paulo, anexa às dependências do Colégio.
Prejudicada por 13 anos de ausência forçada dos padres da Cia. de Jesus, que foram expulsos da vila, foi reconstruída e ampliada a partir de 1667, que teve como padroeiro o Senhor Bom Jesus.

O Museu de Arqueologia de Itaipu tem como objetivo principal o desenvolvimento de um programa educativo-cultural voltado para as escolas e a comunidade local, através da divulgação de material arqueológico pré-histórico. Seu acervo é composto por objetos testemunhos dos povos que viveram na região antes de 1500 e traduzem elementos de sua cultura material. São machados de pedra, pontas de ossos, lascas de quartzo com variadas funções, polidores, peças cerâmicas e conchas provenientes dos sítios arqueológicos do litoral fluminense. Boa parte dessa coleção - 966 peças - foi doada ao Museu pelo antigo Agente Federal de Fiscalização de Pesca e arqueológico amador Hildo de Mello Ribeiro, que viveu em Itaipu por cerca de 20 anos.

O Museu de Arte Contemporânea da Universidade de São Paulo (MAC USP) tem em seu acervo cerca de 8.000 obras, entre óleos, desenhos, gravuras, esculturas, objetos e trabalhos conceituais, constituindo grande patrimônio cultural com decorrências sociais nacionais e internacionais. São obras de artistas como Anita Malfatti, Di Cavalcanti, Brecheret, Tarsila, Rego Monteiro, Portinari, Oiticica, De Chirico, Modigliani, Boccioni, Picasso, Chagall, entre tantos outros.

Construído em 1872 por Bento Joaquim Alves Pereira, rico português residente no Rio de Janeiro, o Palacete Bartholdy ou Solar do Jambeiro é um notável exemplar da arquitetura residencial urbana burguesa, em meados do século XIX. Em meio à bela chácara arborizada, ergue-se o amplo sobrado, revestido de autênticos azulejos de padrão, típicos das construções portuguesas.

O Museu do Ceará foi a primeira instituição museológica oficial do Estado, criada por decreto em 1932, mas aberto oficialmente ao público em janeiro de 1933, com a denominação de Museu Histórico do Ceará. Inicialmente foi concebido como uma das dependências do Arquivo Público, situado na rua 24 de Maio, nº 238, no centro de Fortaleza. No início de 1934, o Arquivo e o Museu foram transferidos para a Avenida Alberto Nepomuceno, nº 332, em frente à Praça da Sé. Hoje esses edifícios já não existem mais. Sua principal missão é promover a reflexão crítica sobre a História do Ceará por meio de programas integrados de pesquisas museológicas, exposições, cursos, publicações e práticas pedagógicas.

The DOCKYARD MUSEUM in the Naval Officer's House interprets the story of English Harbour and of the people that toiled in this famous Georgian Royal Naval Yard. It also explains the 20th century return of sailing ships and the aims and aspirations of Nelson's Dockyard National Park. There is also a small "Nelson's Room" with a life sized portrait of Nelson researched through archaeological means.
