Rockefeller Center is a complex of 19 commercial buildings covering 22 acres in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, New York City. The development was was conceived on the verge of the Great Depression, and Rockefeller financed the center personally, making it the largest private building project in modern history at the time.

Peter Dubacher started the Berkshire Bird Paradise, a certified not for profit company back in 1972 as a "labor of love." It has grown into one of the largest bird sanctuaries in the country. The sanctuary has evolved into an outdoors educational institution, where students on field trips with their parents or on college internship programs can learn about birds. The sanctuary is also a small botanical garden with hundreds of plants and exotic flowers .We are constantly improving our grounds, with the help of great volunteers.

The Greenbelt is a 2,800-acre conservation area in the heart of Staten Island, New York. It is a unique and beautiful region that offers a wide range of leisure opportunities and is a paradise for nature lovers. Home to a variety of habitats such as forests, wetlands and grasslands, it is the perfect place to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy the beauty of nature. Most of the greenbelt is New York Park and includes many natural areas and parks. Located directly on the Greenbelt, LaTourette, Willowbrook and High Rock Parks offer visitors a variety of activities including golf, archery, baseball, hiking and bird watching in the W.. Davis Wildlife Refuge. Greenbelt also has an exciting carousel that is a popular attraction for visitors of all ages. The Greenbelt is also a great place to explore the environment and nature. Environmental education, summer camps and special events and concerts throughout the year.Visitors can take a guided tour and learn about the different habitats, plants and animals that inhabit the greenbelt. The Greenbelt is a great place to see and explore nature, making it a great destination for both Staten Island residents and visitors.

The 600-acre wetland preserve maintained by the Jamestown Audubon Society supports a great variety of wildlife. Hikers who are patient and quiet are treated to many spectacular finds - no matter what the season.

"The Eagle Institute public programs are held during the winter months, when 150-200 bald eagles migrate to this region. To minimize disturbance during the breeding season, our only public program from March through July is in cooperation with the Basha Kill Area Association’s thebashakill.org Nature Watch program. We also collect data about the region’s nesting pairs and encourage participation through our Kitchen Counters Program."

The Dutchess County Agricultural Society, Inc. is a nonprofit 501c5 corporation. The 80 member society is made up of interested men and women who elect the 16 member Board of Directors. This group oversees all aspects of the operation of the fair and all off season events. The General Manager works with and communicates directly to the Board. A permanent staff of eleven produces the various events and maintains the 162-acre facility throughout the year. The number of paid staff and volunteers during the fair grows to several hundred.

"Scootcars are a 2 person, gasoline powered, 3-wheeled motorcycle. They are classified as a moped and only require a regular driver’s license to operate. They are the most exiting way to explore Lake George, they can zip around town and get you anywhere you want to go! Parking is a snap when touring on a scootcar, just park it anywhere you would a motorcycle.
We provide helmets and drivers must be 18 years old. If you are 16 years-old with a driver's permit, you may drive a Scootcar with a parent or guardian if they ride with you in the vehicle and if they have ID."

AAA Paintball has been open for 15 years and has 100 plus rentals to offer. We are a quality insured and safety certified organization. We encourage players to bring their own equipment but are a "field paint only" facility because paint quality is controllable. Players and groups are also welcome to schedule private groups.

The idea of a ski resort in the Northern Catskills was introduced by a New York State legislative committee in the late 1950s. They considered developing a state-run resort on Cave Mountain, just off Main Street in the Town of Windham. Although this project never advanced beyond the discussion stage, the idea took hold and a group of private investors purchased the land for a ski area in 1960 and Windham Mountain was born. During its 50 years of existence the resort has become associated with customer care and attentiveness to its guests.

Roberson Memorial, Inc. was established by the will of Alonzo Roberson in 1934 to create an “educational center …for the use and benefit of all people.” The Roberson Memorial Center (as first called) opened to the public in 1954 in the Roberson Mansion.

This is our longest adventure, offering a full day trip, passing many flagstops including Holland Patent, Remsen, Forestport, Woodgate and Otter Lake. The journey is over 2 hours each way with a 4-1/2 hour layover in Thendara in the summer.

The Panama Rocks are reputed to be the world's most extensive outcropping of glacier-sculpted, ocean-quartz-conglomerate rock. Geologists believe the rocks originated as sand and gravel sea islands, over 300 million years ago. The islands were part of a huge river delta. Over aeons, the islands were covered by thousands of feet of sediments, and were 'pressure compacted' into rock. About 165 million years ago, the rock was fractured and uplifted to its present altitude [1650']. During the last Ice Age, a glacier cut-into and unearthed the rock. Since that time a lush, mixed forest has grown over the site.

The eastern terminus of the Erie Canal, finished in 1825, was here. The first railroad line designed specifically for use by steam locomotives connected Albany and Schenectady. Henry Burden, a Scottish immigrant who took over a nationally-ranked iron works in South Troy in the early 1800s, was the inventor of the "hook-head" railroad spike that is now in common usage.
