Located in the Hudson River Valley in Dutchess County, New York. We are on Route 9 in Hyde Park, about 90 miles north of New York City and 70 miles south of Albany.

Wilderstein is an independent not-for-profit historic site located in Rhinebeck, New York. Our mission is to enrich people’s lives by providing a relevant, engaging cultural destination; to protect, preserve and restore the estate’s architecture, landscape and collections; and to interpret the site’s history in compelling and innovative ways.

The Adirondack Park is a publicly-protected area located in northeast New York. It is the largest park and the largest state-level protected area in the contiguous United States, and the largest National Historic Landmark. The park covers some 6.1 million acres (9,400 mi²/24,700 km²), a land area about the size of Vermont, or of the Yellowstone, Yosemite, Grand Canyon, Glacier, and Great Smoky Mountains National Parks combined. <br> Much land is directly controlled by the state's Forest Preserve, but more than half the land within the Adirondack Park is privately owned, including several villages and hamlets. <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org" target="new">Source</a>

RockSport proudly offers 4,200 square feet of indoor rock climbing. This includes many features such as overhanging walls, bouldering caves, and beginner walls. "Scootcars are a 2 person, gasoline powered, 3-wheeled motorcycle. They are classified as a moped and only require a regular driver’s license to operate. They are the most exiting way to explore Lake George, they can zip around town and get you anywhere you want to go! Parking is a snap when touring on a scootcar, just park it anywhere you would a motorcycle. <br> We provide helmets and drivers must be 18 years old. If you are 16 years-old with a driver's permit, you may drive a Scootcar with a parent or guardian if they ride with you in the vehicle and if they have ID."

The particular cleft is the valley and brook between Emerson and Grymes Hills. This valley was deepened by the glacier 20,000 years ago. The brook which ran through the valley originated in Clove Swamp and ran to the Kill Van Kull. The damming of this brook over the years created the different lakes and ponds in the area.

In 1982, President Ronald Reagan asked Lee Iacocca, then Chairman of Chrysler Corporation, to head a private sector effort to raise funds for the restoration and preservation of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. The Statue of Liberty-Ellis Island Foundation (SOLEIF) was founded. <br> The Foundation's fundraising drive sparked a dramatic response. The Central Park Zoo is a popular destination in New York City, attracting thousands of visitors every year. Belmont Park is a 430-acre racetrack in Elmont, N.Y. There are two race meetings at Belmont Park in 2012: the 56-day Spring/Summer meeting will be from April 27 to July 15; and the 37-day Fall Championship meeting will be from Sept. 8 to Oct. 28. Belmont Park is the home of the 144th Running of the Belmont Stakes on Saturday June 9, 2012.

Since its birth almost forty years ago as the "First Inland Oceanarium", the Aquarium of Niagara has seen over 8 million visitors, tourists, teachers, and students pass through its doors. It was the first aquarium to use synthetic seawater to exclusively maintain marinelife. More than forty exhibits showcase 1,500 aquatic animals from around the globe. <br> The Aquarium of Niagara is one of only 17 institutions in North America to house a colony of the endangered Peruvian penguin. Two daily penguin feedings provide visitors an opportunity to "Meet the Keeper" and learn about these fascinating aquatic birds! <br> The schedule includes exciting shark feedings (on alternate days), and scheduled sessions with the California sea lions in the 100,000 gallon central pool. This botanical gardens is the product of three extraordinary visionaries: landscaping architect Fredrick Law Olmsted, architects Lord & Burnham and botanist / plant-explorer John F. Cowell.<br/> In 1985, the front entrance portico was renovated to reproduce the original design and the exhibits in the front houses were replaced. In 1990-96 the Shrub Garden was restored by Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy, County staff at the Gardens and the Society.

The philosophy of the Buffalo Zoo is to exhibit animals and plants in ecological habitats and geographical arrangements that represent the biomes of the world. Current programs focus on providing visitors with a better understanding of the natural world, how animals relate to each other, to their environment and to humankind. No longer are animals housed at the Buffalo Zoo solely for the amusement and entertainment of visitors, but rather, are presented to increase awareness for the importance of conservation for the benefit of both the animal kingdom and the human race.

The Aqua Zoo in Alexandria Bay has a large variety of marine life on display in over 80 exhibits and more than 15,000 gallons of fresh and sea water, the Aqua Zoo is one of the largest privately owned aquariums of its kind in the United States or Canada. <br> Fabulous coral reefs, which were imported from the Fiji Islands, will amaze you. They feature dozens of different species of invertebrates, living coral, and various other life forms. You'll notice Gonipora Coral from Malaysia, Gorgonia from the Caribbean Sea, Leather corals from Indonesia, Hawaiian Feather Dusters, Sea Apples from the Australian Barrier Reef, and many more interesting creatures.

Ron and Nancy Robbins are the current owners of a diversified farm business just outside the historic village of Sackets Harbor. Founded in 1977 with 100 acres of rented land, Ron and Nancy have transformed the business to include 4000 acres of owned and rented land raising a variety of field crops and vegetables, a 400 cow dairy, a grain processing enterprise, and a very popular and well respected farm tour and agricultural education enterprise.

Located in the northern catskills in beautiful East Durham. This is the largest water park in the catskills. Waterslides, pools, lazy river, picnic areas, group rates and specials.

"The Eagle Institute public programs are held during the winter months, when 150-200 bald eagles migrate to this region. To minimize disturbance during the breeding season, our only public program from March through July is in cooperation with the Basha Kill Area Association’s thebashakill.org Nature Watch program. We also collect data about the region’s nesting pairs and encourage participation through our Kitchen Counters Program."

Hunter Mountain is New York's premier eastern ski resort with 100% snowmaking coverage offering great skiing, snowboarding, snowtubing, & snowshoeing as well as summer ethnic festivals such as the German Alps Festival, Celtic Festival, Oktoberfest, and others in the beautiful northern Catskill mountains.

Allegany State Park’s 65,000 acres is known for its primitive forested valleys, un-glaciated landscape, fall leaves and wildlife. The two developed areas, Red House and Quaker, make this the largest state park in the system. Both areas offer sand beaches, picnic areas, museums, hiking trails and naturalist walks.

The Panama Rocks are reputed to be the world's most extensive outcropping of glacier-sculpted, ocean-quartz-conglomerate rock. Geologists believe the rocks originated as sand and gravel sea islands, over 300 million years ago. The islands were part of a huge river delta. Over aeons, the islands were covered by thousands of feet of sediments, and were 'pressure compacted' into rock. About 165 million years ago, the rock was fractured and uplifted to its present altitude [1650']. During the last Ice Age, a glacier cut-into and unearthed the rock. Since that time a lush, mixed forest has grown over the site.

Peter Dubacher started the Berkshire Bird Paradise, a certified not for profit company back in 1972 as a "labor of love." It has grown into one of the largest bird sanctuaries in the country. The sanctuary has evolved into an outdoors educational institution, where students on field trips with their parents or on college internship programs can learn about birds. The sanctuary is also a small botanical garden with hundreds of plants and exotic flowers .We are constantly improving our grounds, with the help of great volunteers.

Founded in 1900 by the financier Spencer Trask and his wife Katrina, herself a poet, Yaddo is an artists' community located on a 400-acre estate in Saratoga Springs, New York. Its mission is to nurture the creative process by providing an opportunity for artists to work without interruption in a supportive environment. <br> Yaddo offers residencies to professional creative artists from all nations and backgrounds working in one or more of the following media: choreography, film, literature, musical composition, painting, performance art, photography, printmaking, sculpture, and video. Artists may apply individually or as members of collaborative teams of two or three persons. They are selected by panels of other professional artists without regard to financial means. Residencies last from two weeks to two months and include room, board, and studio.
