The Brooklyn Bridge, one of the oldest suspension bridges in the United States, stretches 5,989 feet over the East River connecting the New York City boroughs of Manhattan and Brooklyn. On completion, it was the largest suspension bridge in the world and the first steel-wire suspension bridge.

From its inception over 50 years ago, a cornerstone of Brooklyn Center's mission has been a proactive community out-reach, bringing the Brooklyn Community into the Brooklyn College environment....letting the public experience a part of our campus. The cathedral was finally completed in 1879, and the doors were opened to the public in May of that year. However, the cathedral's construction was not yet finished, and in 1888, Archbishop Michael Corrigan added the towers on the West Front of the cathedral. In 1901, Corrigan began work on the east addition, which included the construction of the Lady Chapel.
Today, St. Patrick's Cathedral is a popular tourist destination and a significant religious and cultural site in New York City. Often abbreviated as MSG, known colloquially simply as The Garden, has been the name of four arenas in New York City, United States. It is also the name of the entity which owns the arena and several of the professional sports franchises which play there. There have been four incarnations of the arena. The first two were located at Madison Square, thus the name. Subsequently a new 17,000-seat Garden (opened December 15, 1925) was built at 50th Street and 8th Avenue, and the current Garden (opened February 14, 1968) is at 7th Avenue between 31st and 33rd Streets, situated on top of Pennsylvania Station. O Parque das Mangabeiras, inaugurado em maio de 1982, é um dos maiores parques urbanos do país, com 2,3 milhões de metros quadrados. Além de ser muito procurado como opção de lazer, funciona também como centro de pesquisa e de educação ambiental. Para visitar o parque, existem três opções: o Roteiro das Águas, o Roteiro da Mata e o Roteiro do Sol. Logo na entrada, uma sala multimídia orienta os visitantes sobre as atrações do local. O Parque está localizado na Serra do Curral e é considerado a maior área verde da capital. Além de ser ponto de encontro de milhares de pessoas é palco de atividades culturais e habitat de várias espécies vegetais e animais. Seu projeto paisagístico foi elaborado por Roberto Burle Marx. O gerenciamento fica por conta da Prefeitura Municipal de Belo Horizonte através da Secretaria Municipal de Meio Ambiente e Saneamento Urbano. O parque é um dos poucos remanescentes de mata da região metropolitana de Belo Horizonte e serve de abrigo a um número razoável de animais. Ocorrem 13 espécies de mamíferos na área, como o mico estrela, escolhido como mamífero símbolo de Belo Horizonte, gambás, esquilos, quatis. Há ainda 158 tipos de aves, 12 de répteis e 16 de anfíbios. A vegetação do parque reúne espécies que variam entre o campo de altitude, como as gramíneas, canelas de ema e algumas espécies de orquídeas; cerrado, como o pau-santo, barbatimão, candeia, caviuna e a mangaba; e matas de galeria, como o jacarandá, vinhático, jequitibá, e a quaresmeira, eleita árvore símbolo de Belo Horizonte. As principais atrações encontram-se na Praça das Águas, Morro do Pic-Nic, Parque Esportivo, Ciranda de Brinquedos, Praça do Britador, Viveiro, Mirante da Mata, Vale dos Quiosques, Recanto da Cascatinha, Lago dos Sonhos, Ilhas do Passatempo e Estação Meteorológica.

O Teatro Municipal João Caetano foi reinaugurado em 1995, após uma profunda restauração. O projeto de recuperação encarou um grande desafio que era respeitar os aspectos históricos e ao mesmo tempo dotá-lo de modernidade. Ao longo de sua história, o teatro sofreu sucessivas obras de reformas que foram alterando a forma original do prédio, adaptando espaços e desfigurando seus seus núcleos históricos, dando origem a um prédio com características de diferentes épocas. No entanto, a fachada manteve as linhas arquitetônicas neoclássicas da reforma de 1888 e 1889.

Seu nome, na língua Tupi significa "água que sai do meio das pedras". Possui restaurantes de frutos do mar, todos na areia da praia, de onde se pode apreciar o mais belo pôr-do-sol da cidade. O canal de ligação da lagoa de Itaipu com o oceano, é o limite natural entre a praia de Itaipu e a de Camboinhas.

Fundada em 1894, a Confeitaria Colombo faz parte do patrimônio cultural e artístico da cidade e é o ponto de referência do turismo da cidade. O Santuário da Penha fica em uma enorme e belíssima área verde, com uma localização de fácil acesso, seja pela Linha Vermelha, Linha Amarela ou Avenida Brasil. Para atender os romeiros, o Santuário da Penha conta com a comodidade de bebedouros, lanchonete e diversos banheiros, além de outras diversas instalações. Para aqueles que não desejam subir ou descer os 382 degraus da escadaria principal, o acesso do pátio até a Igreja pode ser feito através de um novíssimo bondinho, com capacidade para transportar cerca de 500 pessoas por hora.

Há duas hipóteses para a sua denominação: a primeira relacionada as flechas utilizadas pelos índios, e a outra, mais provável supõe que derivou da planta abundante nos brejos locais, da qual se originam a flecha e a paina da flecha.
