Surrounded by the same stately trees for which it was named, The Oaks, in Portland, Oregon in 2005 will celebrate its 100th consecutive year of operation, making it one of the oldest continuously operating amusement parks in America. Built by the Oregon Water Power and Navigation Company, the park opened its gates on May 30, 1905 to Portlanders who arrived by foot and on horseback, in automobiles and by boat from the Willamette River. The Niagara Parks Commission was founded in 1885 as a self-funding agency of the Ontario Government.
The goal of The Niagara Parks Commission is: To preserve and enhance the natural beauty of the Falls and the Niagara River corridor for the enjoyment of visitors while maintaining financial independence.

Aqueduct Race Track, also known as Aqueduct Racetrack or simply Aqueduct, is a horse racing track located in Queens, New York. The track is part of the New York Racing Association (NYRA) and is open for live racing throughout the year. The track has three separate tracks: a main dirt track, an inner turf course and an outer turf course. Aqueduct is home to several major horse racing events throughout the year, including the Wood Memorial Stakes, the Gotham Stakes, and the Cigar Mile Handicap. These events attract some of the top horses and jockeys in the sport and offer significant purse money to the winners. The track also hosts the New York Racing Festival, which features several graded stakes races.

The historic landscapes, structures, objects, and archeological and natural resources at Morristown are tangible links to one of the most defining events in our nation's history. O site Ciência Hoje On-line é uma iniciativa pioneira de divulgação científica na internet brasileira. Além de disponibilizar parte do conteúdo das publicações do ICH, o site publica notícias exclusivas atualizadas diariamente que oferecem ao leitor uma cobertura dinâmica da atualidade científica no Brasil e no mundo.
Em 2007, foi lançado, em parceria com o Centro Brasileiro de Pesquisas Físicas, o livro Física Hoje - Uma aventura pela natureza: dos átomos ao universo, que reúne 11 artigos escritos por renomados pesquisadores brasileiros e originalmente publicados na revista Ciência Hoje ao longo de 2005, em comemoração ao Ano Mundial da Física.
O ICH atua também na divulgação científica em meios audiovisuais: o Instituto promoveu a realização do programa de televisão Tome Ciência, uma série semanal que abordou de forma acessível temas de ciência e tecnologia.. Helio Oiticica (1937-1980) foi um dos mais criativos artistas plásticos brasileiros. A síntese de sua obra são seus belos "Parangolés" (1964): capas, estandartes ou bandeiras coloridas de algodão ou náilon com poemas em tinta sobre o tecido a serem vestidas ou carregadas pelo ator/espectador, que passa a perceber seu corpo transformado em dança. Quase uma poesia, pois a obra de arte só se revela quando alguém a manuseia, a movimenta.

O Bosque da Barra ou Parque Arruda Câmara, localizado no quilômetro 6 da Avenida das Américas com 50 hectares ocupados com vegetação típica de praia é refúgio natural de pássaros e animais. Com área equivalente a 50 campos de futebol, constitui uma das áreas verdes mais visitadas da região, propiciando um delicioso passeio.
O parque possui amplos gramados, equipamentos para a prática esportiva como campos de futebol e quadras de vôlei, payground para a criançada, pista em terra batida com extensão de 3.000 metros para caminhada e trilhas na mata para a prática de mountain bike.
