The Pacific Park on the Santa Monica Pier remains undamaged by the recent Jan 2025 wildfires in Los Angeles. The history of the Reading & Columbia Rail Road started with the Philadelphia & Reading Railroad Company chartered April 4, 1833 by an Act of the Pennsylvnia Legislature. This is all part of a complex story that began locally in 1857 with generated interest in a railroad between Reading and Columbia. A group of influential citizens from Lancaster and Berks Counties secured passage of a charter creating the Reading & Columbia Rail Road Company, which was signed by Governor James Pollock on May 19, 1857.

The purpose of the Brooklyn Bridge Park Boathouse, a 501c3 non-profit, is to promote human-powered boating and safe public access to the Brooklyn waterfront, to provide opportunities for people to learn about and participate in human-powered boating, and to promote environmentally sound policies that provide for and sustain human-powered boating in New York harbor.

Battery Park is a 25-acre public park located at the southern tip of Manhattan in New York City. The park is named after the artillery batteries that were positioned there in the late 17th and early 18th centuries to defend the city from naval attack. Today, the park is a popular destination for both tourists and locals, offering a variety of recreational and cultural activities. One of the main attractions of Battery Park is the stunning waterfront views of New York Harbor, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. It is now privately owned. The Space Needle is a tower 184 m (605 feet) high and 42 m (138 feet) wide at its widest point and weighs 9,550 tons. Tudo começou em 1945, quando os caminhões pau-de-arara, vindos de vários estados do Nordeste, chegavam ao Campo de São Cristóvão trazendo retirantes nordestinos para trabalhar na construção civil, onde já tinham vaga garantida.
O encontro dos recém-chegados com parentes e outros conterrâneos era animado com música e comida nordestinas, dando origem à Feira de São Cristóvão. Durante 58 anos, a tradicional Feira permaneceu no Campo de São Cristóvão, debaixo das árvores. Em 2003, as barracas foram transferidas para dentro do antigo Pavilhão, que foi reformado pela Prefeitura do Rio e transformado no Centro Municipal Luiz Gonzaga de Tradições Nordestinas. Hoje, a Feira de São Cristóvão tem boa infra-estrutura de limpeza e segurança, com banheiros públicos e estacionamento. São cerca de 700 barracas fixas, que oferecem as várias modalidades da cultura nordestina: culinária, artesanato, trios e bandas de forró, dança, cantores e poetas populares, repente e literatura de cordel.

O Teatro Municipal João Caetano foi reinaugurado em 1995, após uma profunda restauração. O projeto de recuperação encarou um grande desafio que era respeitar os aspectos históricos e ao mesmo tempo dotá-lo de modernidade. Ao longo de sua história, o teatro sofreu sucessivas obras de reformas que foram alterando a forma original do prédio, adaptando espaços e desfigurando seus seus núcleos históricos, dando origem a um prédio com características de diferentes épocas. No entanto, a fachada manteve as linhas arquitetônicas neoclássicas da reforma de 1888 e 1889.

A Casa França-Brasil é um Centro Cultural difusor de Arte Contemporânea, com Exposições, Projeto Educativo, Sala de Leitura e Bistrô. A instituição está instalada numa construção neoclássica tombada, projetada no século XIX. Em janeiro de 1816 chegou ao Rio de Janeiro uma Missão Artística Francesa chefiada pelo escritor Joachim Lebreton (1760-1819), com o objetivo de formar no Brasil o núcleo de uma Academia de Belas Artes. De suas atividades deriva o projeto do prédio que hoje abriga a Casa França-Brasil, de autoria de Grandjean de Montigny, idealizado para ser uma Praça de Comércio (inaugurada em 13/10/1820 e fechada um ano depois). Em 1824, o prédio é reaberto como alfândega. E, 1956 a 1978, sedia o II Tribunal do Júri. Fechado desde então, é reinaugurado em 29/03/1990 depois de convênio firmado entre a Secretaria Estadual de Cultural, a Secretaria de Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico, a Fundação Nacional Pró-Memória, o Ministério da Cultura da França, a Fundação Roberto Marinho e a Rodhia para a execução das obras que o tornaram um centro cultural.

O Centro de Artes Calouste Gulbenkian foi criado em 11 de março de 1971 e recebeu este nome em homenagem à instituição cultural portuguesa sediada em Lisboa, a Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian. A origem do Centro Calouste Gulbenkian, que está instalado na Praça Onze, está ligada à necessidade de formar professores de artesanato para atender às escolas públicas do Estado do Rio. Os cursos de Artes oferecidos no Centro de Artes Calouste Gulbenkian traduzem uma proposta artístico-educacional diversificada e plural, dentro de uma prática atualizada e dinâmica, onde múltiplas linguagens artísticas se integram - do artesanato à pesquisa com novos matérias. Esses cursos são direcionados a quem busca a iniciação ou o aperfeiçoamento através da arte, tanto como linguagem expressiva como para a criação de objetos utilitários. Através de aulas práticas em salas-oficinas, adequadas a cada uma das modalidades artísticas, os professores procuram dar atendimento individualizado, buscando atender os diferentes objetivos de cada aluno.

A Associação Brasileira de Gestão Cultural - ABGC, é uma entidade civil sem fins lucrativos, fundada em 2005, que atua na profissionalização e na formação de conhecimento acadêmico junto aos setores de Produção e Gestão Cultural e Social, mediante a realização de ações e projetos voltados à qualificação profissional e à inserção das profissões afins no mercado de trabalho, tendo como prerrogativa reunir pesquisadores, professores e profissionais das áreas da produção de bens culturais e do gerenciamento em cultura, nos âmbitos público e privado, propondo-se a realizar cursos de capacitação em formatos diversos - corporativos, de extensão e de pós-graduação, além de pesquisas e publicações.
Em 2001 foi implantado o primeiro curso de graduação em Produção Cultural do Rio de Janeiro e, em 2002, o primeiro curso de pós-graduação lato sensu – MBA em Gestão Cultural no país, que já está em sua sétima turma.
