From its inception over 50 years ago, a cornerstone of Brooklyn Center's mission has been a proactive community out-reach, bringing the Brooklyn Community into the Brooklyn College environment....letting the public experience a part of our campus. The cathedral was finally completed in 1879, and the doors were opened to the public in May of that year. However, the cathedral's construction was not yet finished, and in 1888, Archbishop Michael Corrigan added the towers on the West Front of the cathedral. In 1901, Corrigan began work on the east addition, which included the construction of the Lady Chapel.
Today, St. Patrick's Cathedral is a popular tourist destination and a significant religious and cultural site in New York City. It is a National Historic Landmark and is known for its grand architecture, stunning stained-glass windows, and beautiful mosaics. As the 20th century dawned, the NYSE was firmly established as one of America’s preeminent financial institutions. It was also experiencing a sustained rise in trading volume. Trading in listed stocks had tripled between 1896 and 1899. It would nearly double again by 1901.
More space was clearly needed. So the Exchange invited eight of New York City’s leading architects to join in a competition to design a grand new building. Their instructions: The trading floor was to have more space, more light, and more convenience for the transaction of business.

Localizado a 240 metros de altitude na Estação Mata Atlântica do Parque Unipraias Camboriú, o Parque de Aventuras possui dois circuitos de Arvorismo Acrobático, trilhas suspensas entre as copas das árvores atingindo alturas de até 15m, cada qual com 12 atividades distintas. Os candidatos a "Tarzan" escalam redes, caminham sobre cabos de aço, equilibram-se em estribos, passam por tambores de madeira e deslizam em tirolesas em meio a Mata Atlântica. São 140 metros de percurso em cada um dos circuitos.

Diverções aquáticas.

O Parque das Mangabeiras, inaugurado em maio de 1982, é um dos maiores parques urbanos do país, com 2,3 milhões de metros quadrados. Além de ser muito procurado como opção de lazer, funciona também como centro de pesquisa e de educação ambiental. Para visitar o parque, existem três opções: o Roteiro das Águas, o Roteiro da Mata e o Roteiro do Sol. Logo na entrada, uma sala multimídia orienta os visitantes sobre as atrações do local. O Parque está localizado na Serra do Curral e é considerado a maior área verde da capital. Além de ser ponto de encontro de milhares de pessoas é palco de atividades culturais e habitat de várias espécies vegetais e animais. Seu projeto paisagístico foi elaborado por Roberto Burle Marx. O gerenciamento fica por conta da Prefeitura Municipal de Belo Horizonte através da Secretaria Municipal de Meio Ambiente e Saneamento Urbano. O parque é um dos poucos remanescentes de mata da região metropolitana de Belo Horizonte e serve de abrigo a um número razoável de animais. Ocorrem 13 espécies de mamíferos na área, como o mico estrela, escolhido como mamífero símbolo de Belo Horizonte, gambás, esquilos, quatis. Há ainda 158 tipos de aves, 12 de répteis e 16 de anfíbios. A vegetação do parque reúne espécies que variam entre o campo de altitude, como as gramíneas, canelas de ema e algumas espécies de orquídeas; cerrado, como o pau-santo, barbatimão, candeia, caviuna e a mangaba; e matas de galeria, como o jacarandá, vinhático, jequitibá, e a quaresmeira, eleita árvore símbolo de Belo Horizonte. As principais atrações encontram-se na Praça das Águas, Morro do Pic-Nic, Parque Esportivo, Ciranda de Brinquedos, Praça do Britador, Viveiro, Mirante da Mata, Vale dos Quiosques, Recanto da Cascatinha, Lago dos Sonhos, Ilhas do Passatempo e Estação Meteorológica.

O Teatro Municipal João Caetano foi reinaugurado em 1995, após uma profunda restauração. O projeto de recuperação encarou um grande desafio que era respeitar os aspectos históricos e ao mesmo tempo dotá-lo de modernidade. Ao longo de sua história, o teatro sofreu sucessivas obras de reformas que foram alterando a forma original do prédio, adaptando espaços e desfigurando seus seus núcleos históricos, dando origem a um prédio com características de diferentes épocas. No entanto, a fachada manteve as linhas arquitetônicas neoclássicas da reforma de 1888 e 1889.

Seu nome, na língua Tupi significa "água que sai do meio das pedras". Possui restaurantes de frutos do mar, todos na areia da praia, de onde se pode apreciar o mais belo pôr-do-sol da cidade. O canal de ligação da lagoa de Itaipu com o oceano, é o limite natural entre a praia de Itaipu e a de Camboinhas.

Para aqueles que não desejam subir ou descer os 382 degraus da escadaria principal, o acesso do pátio até a Igreja pode ser feito através de um novíssimo bondinho, com capacidade para transportar cerca de 500 pessoas por hora.
