Wilderstein is an independent not-for-profit historic site located in Rhinebeck, New York. Our mission is to enrich people’s lives by providing a relevant, engaging cultural destination; to protect, preserve and restore the estate’s architecture, landscape and collections; and to interpret the site’s history in compelling and innovative ways.

A nonprofit marine nature center that creates experiences that inspire conservation of the San Francisco Bay and its watershed. The Aquarium is an affiliate of The Bay Institute, a nonprofit organization that has successfully developed and led research, science, education and advocacy programs to revitalize San Francisco Bay’s imperiled ecosystems for nearly 30 years. Together, these two nonprofits protect, restore and inspire conservation of San Francisco Bay, from the Sierra to the sea.

Ron and Nancy Robbins are the current owners of a diversified farm business just outside the historic village of Sackets Harbor. Founded in 1977 with 100 acres of rented land, Ron and Nancy have transformed the business to include 4000 acres of owned and rented land raising a variety of field crops and vegetables, a 400 cow dairy, a grain processing enterprise, and a very popular and well respected farm tour and agricultural education enterprise.

The Dutchess County Agricultural Society, Inc. is a nonprofit 501c5 corporation. The 80 member society is made up of interested men and women who elect the 16 member Board of Directors. This group oversees all aspects of the operation of the fair and all off season events. The General Manager works with and communicates directly to the Board. A permanent staff of eleven produces the various events and maintains the 162-acre facility throughout the year. The number of paid staff and volunteers during the fair grows to several hundred.

The New York Botanical Gardens is a premier educational institution. Located just a brisk 25 minute bicycle ride from Sound View Park via Dr. Theodore Kazimiroff Blvd, this NYC attraction is surprisingly bicycle accessible and encourages travel as such. The Gardens offers many educational programs including the opportunity to graduate with certificates in botany, floral design and horticulture, just to name a few. Ongoing hands-on gardening activities for the whole family are also available, so check their schedule online, or just give them a call. Whitewater Rafting in New York - Since 1980, A.R.O. Adventures has guided thousands of guests down the exciting rivers of the Adirondack Mts. of New York State, New York's finest whitewater rafting! We were the first outfitter to offer trips on the Moose and Black rivers, one of the original rafting companies on the Hudson and Sacandaga rivers, and remain one of New York's largest white water rafting outfitters.

Fun Plex started here in Omaha, Neb in 1978. We started small with miniature golf, go-karts, and an arcade.
As the years passed by we have made many expansions and improvements. We built a new go-kart track, introduced a slick track, and subsequently built many more rides. These include bumper cars, bumper boats, and numerous kiddie rides.
The year 1984 saw many changes for Fun Plex. This is when we introduced the first elements of our waterpark. We started simply with a wave pool. A few years later we built twin 5-storey Typhoon water slides.
Today, we are continuing our expansions plans. In 2001 we added two new rides, the Balloon Ferris Wheel and the Kiddie Train. In 2002 we remodeled our midway into our new air-conditioned Pit Stop. 2003 saw the addition of both the Yo-Yo and the Chaos.. Fun Plex now consists of two water slides, a wave pool, a lazzy river, 5 kiddie rides, batting cages, a go-kart and slick track, bumper cars and boats, Tilt-A-Whirl, and a Ferris Wheel. We now see tens of thousands of guests come through our park every year and host numerous company picnics. In 2004 we are planning lots of great changes, and we hope you will be there with us to share in the exciting news ! ! !

The New York Vietnam Veterans Memorial is a memorial located in New York City that honors the men and women who served in the Vietnam War. From its inception, Bargemusic has been committed to attracting local audiences and enhancing the cultural life of New York by offering frequent, year-round performances of chamber music in a fittingly intimate setting—the type of setting in which chamber music is meant to be heard. To make that unique musical experience available to as many people as possible, Bargemusic presents 220 chamber music concerts annually—four days a week, 52 weeks a year—and offers free tickets to a variety of groups every week, plus a monthly free concert open to the community.

For two hundred years, the White House has stood as a symbol of the Presidency, the United States government, and the American people. Its history, and the history of the nation’s capital, began when President George Washington signed an Act of Congress in December of 1790 declaring that the federal government would reside in a district "not exceeding ten miles square…on the river Potomac." President Washington, together with city planner Pierre L’Enfant, chose the site for the new residence, which is now 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

O Observatório iniciou suas atividades no ano de 2001, como projeto de Extensão da Faculdade de Educação da UFF. Nossas principais preocupações de estudo, pesquisa e extensão estão relacionadas com as transformações da condição juvenil na história, as situações de vida dos jovens na contemporaneidade e suas mobilizações sociais, culturais e políticas.. Nosso grupo se organiza em torno de duas linhas de pesquisa: a) Juventude e processos educativos e b) Juventude e culturas da participação. O Observatório Jovem do Rio de Janeiro é cadastrado no diretório de grupos de pesquisa do CNPq e também está presente no Conselho Nacional de Juventude juntamente com o Observatório da Juventude da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG).

O Florestaventura, primeira empresa de Arvorismo no Rio de Janeiro, montou em 2002 os seus primeiros circuitos no bairro do Joá, em plena cidade, de fácil acesso,porem no meio de uma mata tropical extraordinária, proporcionando assim um verdadeiro clima de aventura.
Ele proporciona de forma lúdica, esportiva e didática, uma aproximação com o meio florestal, um contato com as árvores e com o meio ambiente.
O percurso entre as árvores é constituido de 2 circuitos num total de 36 obstáculos, feitos de troncos, pontes, passarelas, cordas de Tarzan, tirolesas, redes, túnel, cabos de aço, etc.
O Florestaventura permite crianças à partir de 6-7 anos de idade, com média de altura de 1,30m, bem como adultos sem limite de idade, peso ou altura.

O Parque Brigadeiro Eduardo Gomes, conhecido como Aterro do Flamengo, possui 1.200.000m² de área verde à beira-mar,com arbustos floridos, uma profusão de árvores, compondo uma das mais visitadas e belas áreas de lazer da cidade. A idealização do parque foi de Lota Macedo Soares, de família da elite carioca. Não fez universidade mas foi aluna de Cândido Portinari e tornou-se uma esteta com conhecimento de arquitetura e urbanismo. Lota era também conhecida por sua curiosidade e conhecimento de plantas.
Lota teve a idéia de iluminar o aterro à noite para permitir passeios noturnos no parque. As quadras de esporte foram idéia sua, que são alugadas todos os dias do ano, inclusive de madrugada, quando ficam tomadas por times de várias associações. Com o aval do governador, de então, Carlos Lacerda, reuniu um grupo de amigos notáveis para materializar o projeto: o paisagista Roberto Burle Marx, o botânico Luiz Emygdio de Mello Filho e os arquitetos Affonso Eduardo Reidy, Sérgio Bernardes e Jorge Moreira.

O Centro Cultural do Banco do Brasil (CCBB) do Rio de Janeiro é um dos quatro CCBBs do país, que também existem nas capitais Brasília, São Paulo e Belo Horizonte. Os Centros são espaços multidisciplinares com programação regular (seis dias por semana), nas áreas de artes cênicas, cinema, exposição, ideias (palestras, debates, seminários etc), música e programa educativo. O CCBB oferece ao público uma programação cultural que é referência no Rio de Janeiro e no Brasil. Com projetos nas mais diversas áreas, o Centro tem um volume de freqüentadores comparável ao de outras grandes instituições culturais do mundo.
Nos vários campos da arte, a programação procura oferecer obras que vão do clássico ao experimental, do erudito ao popular, dos grandes mestres aos talentos iniciantes. Esses critérios de seleção permitem ao CCBB alcançar freqüentadores com os mais abrangentes níveis de interesse. Instalado no número 66 da Rua Primeiro de Março, o Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil é uma das jóias arquitetônicas da Cidade. Seus espaços, organizados e adornados com elementos neoclássicos, abrigam três teatros, sala de cinema, sala de vídeo, cinco salas de exposições, biblioteca com 140 mil títulos, museu e arquivo histórico, videoteca e salão para conferências e palestras. O freqüentador dispõe ainda de restaurante, casa de chá, bombonière e loja de produtos culturais.

O Santuário da Penha conta com uma grande infra-estrutura que vem sendo melhorada incansavelmente para acolher a todos os Romeiros que sempre comparecem em grande quantidade, principalmente na época de festa. O Santuário da Penha fica em uma enorme e belíssima área verde, com uma localização de fácil acesso, seja pela Linha Vermelha, Linha Amarela ou Avenida Brasil. Para atender os romeiros, o Santuário da Penha conta com a comodidade de bebedouros, lanchonete e diversos banheiros, além de outras diversas instalações. Para aqueles que não desejam subir ou descer os 382 degraus da escadaria principal, o acesso do pátio até a Igreja pode ser feito através de um novíssimo bondinho, com capacidade para transportar cerca de 500 pessoas por hora.

Nasceu de uma idéia no ano de 1994, de duas irmãs que tinham como objetivo principal proporcionar à criança urbana um contato com a vida rural, resgatando, de uma maneira lúdica, a infância perdida de quem vive nos grandes centros. Animais de porte pequeno e médio, bem próximos de se habitat natural, fazem a alegria da criançada. A Fazendinha recebe até visita de índios de verdade. Jogos e pinturas são ingredientes importantes do passeio. Programa imperdível.
