Historic Richmond Town is a living history museum located in Staten Island, New York. Wolfe’s Pond Park contains mature upland woods, swamp forest, open marsh, ponds, and shoreline on Raritan Bay, making it one of the most diverse parks in the city. This large park is a refuge for scores of native plants and animals in a rapidly developing area of the city. The beach is part of the shoreline strand that runs continuously from Ward’s Point in Conference House Park, north through Mount Loretto and Lemon Creek Preserve, to Wolfe’s Pond Park.

On Monday, April 30, 2012, at approximately 2:00 p.m., the Port Authority will mark a major milestone in the construction of One World Trade Center with the installation of steel columns that will make the skyscraper the tallest building in New York. When the columns are put in place, the building will officially surpass the height of the Empire State Building, which currently is the tallest structure in New York City.

Com uma área de 138 mil metros quadrados, mais de 2.100 animais entre répteis, mamíferos e aves e cerca de 400 espécies, o zoológico do Rio é o mais antigo do Brasil. Possui o maior plantel de primatas brasileiros, a maior coleção de aves expostas do país e, no setor de fauna, reproduzem-se espécies raras e ameaçadas de extinção como o urubu rei, a ararajuba e o mico leão dourado.

A 230 metros de altura, no morro do Pico, com entrada pelo Forte Barão do Rio Branco, estão plantadas as ruínas do conjunto arquitetônico que, no século XVIII, abrigou as fortificações do Pico ou São Luiz.

O local se caracteriza em parte por mata fechada e em parte por tratamento paisagístico com magníficos jardins. Em 1939 a família Guinle repassou o imóvel ao governo do Distrito Federal, que então determinou sua conversão em parque público.
Ideal para a criançada correr à vontade em locais gramados, em pisos planos e outros levemente íngreme. Um bonito lago foi formado através do trajeto de um sinuoso córrego represado. Muito bom também para namorar. Excelente para piqueniques e propício para reflexões e relaxamento dos adultos.

A maioria dos 7 milhões de km2 da Floresta Amazônica é constituída por uma floresta de terra firme. Esta é uma floresta que nunca é alagada e se espalha sobre uma grande planície de até 130-200 metros de altitude, até os sopés das montanhas. A grande planície corresponde aos sedimentos deixados pelo lago "Belterra", que ocupou a maior parte da bacia Amazônica durante o Mioceno e o Plioceno, entre 25 mil e 1,8 milhão de anos atrás. O silte e as argilas depositados neste antigo lago foram submetidos a um suave movimento de elevação epirogenético, enquanto os Andes se ergueram e os modernos rios começaram a cavar os seus leitos. Assim surgiram os três tipos de florestas amazônicas: as florestas montanhosas Andinas, as florestas de terra firme e as florestas fluviais alagadas, as duas últimas na Amazônia brasileira.

Seu nome, na língua Tupi significa "água que sai do meio das pedras". Possui restaurantes de frutos do mar, todos na areia da praia, de onde se pode apreciar o mais belo pôr-do-sol da cidade. O canal de ligação da lagoa de Itaipu com o oceano, é o limite natural entre a praia de Itaipu e a de Camboinhas.

A Cidade das Crianças Leonel Brizola é um dos maiores parques públicos de lazer da América Latina, ocupando uma área de 186 mil m2 (equivalente a 20 campos de futebol com as dimensões do Maracanã), em Santa Cruz, região oeste da cidade.

O Hopi Hari é um dos maiores parques temáticos do Brasil, com 760 mil m². Localiza-se no município de Vinhedo, na Rodovia dos Bandeirantes, a 72km da capital do estado de São Paulo, ao lado do parque aquático Wet´n Wild. O parque é um país fictício - seus funcionários são os habitantes (hópius e hópias) - com "Presidente", capital, idioma próprio, entre outras características. O parque Hopi Hari é dividido em 5 regiões, cada qual com suas características e história, e em cada uma delas, têm suas respectivas atrações (brinquedos), são elas: Kaminda Mundi, Mistieri, Infantasia, Aribabiba e Wild West.
