A importância da edificação, sede do CCL, para a memória do Rio levou o governo federal a decretar o tombamento de sua fachada, em 1985. Guardião de um rico acervo histórico sobre a empresa, a cidade e o estado, o CCL já teve no apoio às artes um de seus principais focos. Atualmente dedica-se a um projeto educacional denominado Centro Cultural Light para Estudantes, onde as crianças podem aprofundar seus conhecimentos sobre a história da eletricidade e da Light. Esse projeto, iniciado em junho de 2002, já beneficiou cerca de 150 mil estudantes e professores.

Governors Island is a 172-acre island located in New York Harbor, just a short ferry ride from Manhattan and Brooklyn. The island has a rich history, having been used as a military base, a quarantine station, and a Coast Guard station over the centuries. In recent years, it has been transformed into a public park and recreational destination. The island features several notable attractions, including the Governors Island National Monument, which includes the historic Castle Williams and Fort Jay, both of which date back to the early 19th century and offer a glimpse into the island's military past. The island also has a number of outdoor sculptures and art installations, including "The Hills," a series of man-made hills that offer panoramic views of the harbor and the city skyline. Governors Island is also home to several parks and green spaces, including Hammock Grove, which features over 50 hammocks for visitors to relax in, and the Island's 14 acres of public parkland. Governors Island is easily accessible by ferry, with a ferry terminal located at the Battery Maritime Building in Manhattan and at Brooklyn Bridge Park. The island is open to the public from May to September, with free ferry service from Manhattan and Brooklyn.

The Wyoming Dinosaur Center has 12,000 square feet of exhibition area. Fossils and life forms from earliest geologic time periods are displayed in a chronological perspective. There are over 200 displays throughout the museum. The central hall houses dozens of full-size mounted skeletons, including over 20 dinosaurs.

Aberta a todos os interessados, com resultados de amplo alcance social, comprometida com a disseminação de uma das maiores riquezas da cultura brasileira, a Escola Portátil de Música é patrocinada pela Petrobras, como projeto convidado. Graças ao patrocínio, as aulas são gratuitas, cabendo aos alunos apenas o pagamento de uma taxa semestral administrativa.
Criada por músicos de choro em 2000, a Escola Portátil de Música vem, desde então, protagonizando uma história de crescimento e sucesso. Hoje, no campus da Uni-Rio na Urca, a EPM dispõe de 23 professores e cerca de 600 alunos de flauta, clarinete, saxofone, trompete, trombone, contrabaixo, violão de 6 e 7 cordas, cavaquinho, bandolim, pandeiro, percussão, piano, acordeom e canto, sem falar das aulas de história do choro, teoria musical, harmonia, arranjo, composição, prática de conjunto etc. A formação musical oferecida pela Escola Portátil de Música é completa (teórica e prática), dando ao aluno formado a possibilidade de trabalhar dentro de qualquer estilo musical, não apenas do choro.

Como o Rio foi por muito tempo capital do Brasil, a história da Câmara Municipal se confunde um pouco com a história do País. O Palácio Pedro Ernesto possui obras que retratam importantes momentos e belos detalhes arquitetônicos. Ao entrar no Palácio, construído no início do século XX por A. Jannuzzi, é forte a impressão. Beleza e tradição caminham juntas pelo piso em xadrez de mármores de Carrara e verde grego. A escadaria em frente ao portão principal tem, em seu patamar, o busto do prefeito Pedro Ernesto, obra de Pinto do Couto. Mais dezoito degraus levam ao segundo pavimento, nos quais o pintor Carlos Oswald deixou sua marca. Produziu painéis, em forma de leque, representando cenas de época: A audição de cravo, O minueto, A cadeirinha e A cabra cega. Ainda na Presidência, pode ser encontrada uma loba romana, que amamenta os irmãos Rômulo e Remo, peça de bronze de Barye, grande mestre animalista francês. As pinturas no teto são de autoria dos irmãos Carlos e Rodolfo Chambelland, em estilo impressionista.

Primeiro prédio modernista do Rio de Janeiro, formado por um bloco de 14 andares, o Ministério da Educação e Saúde, projeto inspirado por Le Corbisier, passou a ser conhecido como o prédio do MEC, hoje Palácio da Cultura Gustavo Capanema, uma homenagem ao então Ministro da Pasta do Governa Vargas que ordenou sua construção. Inaugurado em 1945, congregou os melhores representantes da nova geração de arquitetos, pintores e escultores, como Lúcio Costa, Oscar Niemeyer, Cândido Portinari, responsável pelos painés e os azulejos decorativos do prédio, Bruno Giorgi e Roberto Burle Marx, responsável pelo aspecto paisagístico. Na edificação são elementos de detaque, o prédio solto no centro do quarteirão com as pessoas cruzando-o diagonalmente, o pilotis de dupla altura, o átrio de paredes de travertino, a escada helicoidal, a estatuária acrescentada ao passeio e as fachadas compostas de vidro e de brise-soleil, dispositivo regulável para entrada do sol.

Often abbreviated as MSG, known colloquially simply as The Garden, has been the name of four arenas in New York City, United States. It is also the name of the entity which owns the arena and several of the professional sports franchises which play there. There have been four incarnations of the arena. The first two were located at Madison Square, thus the name. Subsequently a new 17,000-seat Garden (opened December 15, 1925) was built at 50th Street and 8th Avenue, and the current Garden (opened February 14, 1968) is at 7th Avenue between 31st and 33rd Streets, situated on top of Pennsylvania Station. Rockefeller Center is a complex of 19 commercial buildings covering 22 acres in the heart of Midtown Manhattan, New York City. The development was was conceived on the verge of the Great Depression, and Rockefeller financed the center personally, making it the largest private building project in modern history at the time.
The complex was designed by a team of architects and artists, who created a collection of buildings with a strong Art Deco aesthetic. The buildings are adorned with sculptures, mosaics, and murals that reflect the cultural and social influences of the time. The centerpiece of the complex is the 70-story Rockefeller Plaza, which was the world's tallest building when it was completed in 1933.

O Trem do Corcovado é uma linha férrea localizada na cidade do Rio de Janeiro. A linha começa em Cosme Velho e segue até o cume do Corcovado, a uma altitude de 710m. O cume é famoso pela estátua do Cristo Redentor e pela vistá aérea de várias praias do Rio de Janeiro.
A linha possui 3,8km de extensão e utiliza um sistema de tração elétrico. A linha foi inaugurada pelo imperador Dom Pedro II em 9 de Outubro de 1884. Inicialmente utilizava tração mecânica, sendo que o sistema de tração elétrico foi instalado em 1910, se tornando pioneiro no Brasil. Em 1980 a linha foi modernizada com a compra de trens da empresa SLM, sediada na cidade de Winterthur, Suíça.
A linha férrea do Corcovado é uma das poucas que ainda utilizam um sistema elétrico trifásico, possuindo, assim, dois cabos aéreos. A linha possui 4 trens, cada qual com dois vagões. O trajeto é completado em cerca de 20 minutos, sendo que um trem parte a cada meia hora, o que dá ao sistema uma capacidade de transporte de 360 passageiros por hora. A Feira Hippie de Ipanema, com mais de quarenta anos de existência, é um espaço aberto onde o visitante vai encontrar em aproximadamente 900 pontos de exposição, artesanato brasileiro, bijuterias, bordados em roupas e acessórios, pinturas em tela, objetos de decoração, etc.
Funciona somente aos domingos de 07:00h às 20h.
A freqüência de turistas brasileiros e estrangeiros já foi mais expressiva em passado recente, mas, ainda é um local interessante para um passeio após o almoço para garimpar algumas peças com bom preço.
Alguns nomes de expressão iniciaram suas atividades na Feira de Ipanema, como o empresário do segmento de moda Vitor Hugo e a artista plástica Miriam Medeiros, entre outros.
