Grand Central Terminal turns 100 in 2013 and the celebration is starting the party early with the 11th annual Holiday Train Show! In a brand new layout by Lionel, model Metro-North and New York Central trains depart from a miniature Grand Central on their way North on a 34' long, two-level "O" gauge layout. Vintage model trains from the Museum's collection are on display joined by stunning New York Central railroad posters harkening back to Grand Central's heyday as the nexus of long distance and commuter train travel. Grand Central has become a midtown destination for five exquisite restaurants and cocktail lounges, 20 casual international eateries in the lower level Dining Concourse, gourmet foods from the Grand Central Market and the 50 unique specialty shops throughout the concourses, all in to addition to transportation.
Grand Central has also transformed itself into a venue for ongoing public events. O Observatório iniciou suas atividades no ano de 2001, como projeto de Extensão da Faculdade de Educação da UFF. Nossas principais preocupações de estudo, pesquisa e extensão estão relacionadas com as transformações da condição juvenil na história, as situações de vida dos jovens na contemporaneidade e suas mobilizações sociais, culturais e políticas.. Nosso grupo se organiza em torno de duas linhas de pesquisa: a) Juventude e processos educativos e b) Juventude e culturas da participação. O Observatório Jovem do Rio de Janeiro é cadastrado no diretório de grupos de pesquisa do CNPq e também está presente no Conselho Nacional de Juventude juntamente com o Observatório da Juventude da Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (UFMG).

Peter Dubacher started the Berkshire Bird Paradise, a certified not for profit company back in 1972 as a "labor of love." It has grown into one of the largest bird sanctuaries in the country. The sanctuary has evolved into an outdoors educational institution, where students on field trips with their parents or on college internship programs can learn about birds. The sanctuary is also a small botanical garden with hundreds of plants and exotic flowers .We are constantly improving our grounds, with the help of great volunteers.

The Magic Castle, located in the Hollywood Hills, is the showplace for some of the greatest magicians from around the globe. The castle showcases the magnificent building that houses the Magic Castle. Built in 1908, this storied mansion has watched Hollywood grow and change for over 100 years while never losing its original charm. Originally built as a place for the world's up and coming magicians to hone their skills, here we are approximately 75 years later -- and the Magic Castle is going strong! Have a fabulous dinner, than watch up and coming and established magicians perform. The castle offers magic classes, for beginners (and children) too. The one caveat of the magic castle: you must be invited by a member. And for that reason alone, it is one of the hottest tickets in town.

The Dutchess County Agricultural Society, Inc. is a nonprofit 501c5 corporation. The 80 member society is made up of interested men and women who elect the 16 member Board of Directors. This group oversees all aspects of the operation of the fair and all off season events. The General Manager works with and communicates directly to the Board. A permanent staff of eleven produces the various events and maintains the 162-acre facility throughout the year. The number of paid staff and volunteers during the fair grows to several hundred.
