Em 1977, junto a Feira de Livros que acontecia no Campo de São Bento, uma vasta área verde dentro da cidade, alguns artesãos e um artista plástico começaram a expor os seus trabalhos e obras de artes.
Com a transferência de outro grupo (artesãos e artistas plásticos) que faziam parte de uma feira, coordenada por órgão da prefeitura (entre 1983/1987, no centro da cidade), para essa área, começavam as atividades da Feira de Artesanatos do Campo de São Bento. Passando por tantas mudanças, hoje ela comporta, entre artesãos e artistas plásticos, 307 barracas e painéis. Com a criação da área de alimentação, foram acrescidas mais 40 barracas.

Governors Island is a 172-acre island located in New York Harbor, just a short ferry ride from Manhattan and Brooklyn. At the beginning of the 2009 Major League Baseball season the new Yankee Stadium opened its doors when the Yankees hosted a workout day in front of fans from the Bronx community. The first game at this brand new ballpark was a pre-season exhibition game against the Chicago Cubs, played on April 3, 2009, which the Yankees won 7-4. The new Yankee Stadium is located in the Bronx, across the street from the original Yankee Stadium. It is built on a 24 acre area and has a price tag of $1.5 billion, which makes it not only the most expensive baseball stadium ever built but also the third-most expensive stadium of any kind.

The history of the Reading & Columbia Rail Road started with the Philadelphia & Reading Railroad Company chartered April 4, 1833 by an Act of the Pennsylvnia Legislature. This is all part of a complex story that began locally in 1857 with generated interest in a railroad between Reading and Columbia. A group of influential citizens from Lancaster and Berks Counties secured passage of a charter creating the Reading & Columbia Rail Road Company, which was signed by Governor James Pollock on May 19, 1857.

Known for being the first house museum on Staten Island, this New York City museum is rich in history on many levels. Its name lies in honor for the peace conference of 1776, a commemoration. Constructed circa 1680 by Captain Christopher Billopp, this 2 story rubble-stone masonry masterpiece has been restored over the years, as needed for structural integrity. Its steep gable roof gives the essence of the period. By 1934, much work had been completed including the Colonial Rose Garden and planting 13 trees to represent the original colonies. House tours are offered Friday-Sunday at 1 pm. In the midst of a collection of artifacts from the era, it is almost like stepping back to the time when our great country was still forming. A Feira Hippie de Ipanema, com mais de quarenta anos de existência, é um espaço aberto onde o visitante vai encontrar em aproximadamente 900 pontos de exposição, artesanato brasileiro, bijuterias, bordados em roupas e acessórios, pinturas em tela, objetos de decoração, etc.
Funciona somente aos domingos de 07:00h às 20h.
A freqüência de turistas brasileiros e estrangeiros já foi mais expressiva em passado recente, mas, ainda é um local interessante para um passeio após o almoço para garimpar algumas peças com bom preço.
Alguns nomes de expressão iniciaram suas atividades na Feira de Ipanema, como o empresário do segmento de moda Vitor Hugo e a artista plástica Miriam Medeiros, entre outros.

Nasceu de uma idéia no ano de 1994, de duas irmãs que tinham como objetivo principal proporcionar à criança urbana um contato com a vida rural, resgatando, de uma maneira lúdica, a infância perdida de quem vive nos grandes centros. Animais de porte pequeno e médio, bem próximos de se habitat natural, fazem a alegria da criançada. A Fazendinha recebe até visita de índios de verdade. Jogos e pinturas são ingredientes importantes do passeio. Programa imperdível.
